  1. Yeah this is usually the time when the D.C. folk are complaining about not getting the big fantasy storm that was modeled "the week before" and start to give up all hope. For the Richmond area, I believe we are still in a good spot at this time.. I don't think we are going to get the 1,2 hit that was forecast earlier but the 2nd wave around the 29th is what we need to keep an eye out on and could turn out to be a decent snowfall for the area.. I rather have one decent hit then snow/sleet/rain/ snow anyways.. we shall see but definitely not time to give up yet..

Most of the model guidance was near unanimous that Richmond would be under the heavier amounts even as it was snowing yesterday. Personally, I’d call that a bust at this point. I understand why it happened. Dry air, too warm, no phase. But still.

It happens almost every storm here even when it's cold the dry air seems to win out ha.. hard to get a perfect storm here... For this early in the season I'll take it.. Too bad the energy coming down from the lakes didn't happen a little sooner.. could of really helped intensify everything .. Will help a little here at the end .. owell

So, when do we call this a bust on the low end for Richmond?

Not really a bust..the real cold air just never made it here. But if u wanna say we could of got 9 and ended up with 1-4 in most of the area that's true .. Most places should see a nice burst of snow right before this storm ends and around the start of the army /navy game... That should be fun to watch...

I think we all know the locals will boost totals tomorrow morning and/or 4 hours before the storm. They always do!

Yeah they def wait it out for sure most times.. Around here that isn't the worst thing to do.. most of the storms lately we have gotten lucky with the back end moister and I wouldn't expect this storm to be any different .. Temps def going be an issue and the longer it can hold on the better...
