There is literally no way to give yall the current observations in F-V. When the rates lighten up...all sleet...once they pick up...huge flakes mixed with sleet (current scenario). Been bouncing back and forth for hours! Lol...maybe half inch of snow/sleet. Roads are clear for most part.
I’m in K’dale and this is extremely frustrating. Started out so well but now just on and off sleet-

After a few pings on the windows it has now completely stopped and I’m very depressed.

We’re getting rimed flake. It’s close here
Had to google rimed flake and learned something new! It stopped though and flakes back to being un-rimed.

My bottom corner of Wake didn't quite get NAM'd haha. I'm still expecting a sleet bomb
Where are you? I am K’dale, usually snow hole. Could it be I win this time? -
I’m guessing NWS will issue watches after looking at the EURO but my guess is east of 77 through RAH will all be under a watch this afternoon, with maybe the exception of the far southern tier of counties.
Side note- they brined 440 near my office in garner
They’ve brined 540 as well -
Would that be the generator or your husband?
A little bit of both-

EURO introduces 10” into Wake. Gradient is terrifying. 10 to 2” between falls lake and garner. But holy moly what a leap!
And I’m in Knightdale. My neighbor could get 8” and I get 2”. Seriously though, I’ve seen Creedmoor area get 4” and I get half inch.

I grew up in Lenoir in the 70’s and early 80’s. We had several events that finished with zr on top of 6+ inches of snow. Sometimes so much of a crust that I could walk on top of it. Crazy fun sledding conditions.
I live in Chapel Hill now, and was here for the December 2002 monster ice storm. Had no power for 8 full days. We were on a well back then, which also meant we had no water. I swore I would buy a generator after that, but kept rolling the dice enduring shorter outages. I finally got a whole house generator this summer. Looks like I may have done it just in the nick of time.
That storm is why I have a generator. Had a baby at home and my husband walked 3 miles on solid ice because Lowe’s had gotten a shipment of them. There was a long line and he got the last one. Has come in handy over the years.-

That is where the radar is. They just said that on WRAL.
Makes me feel better. I’m bitter about no snow and always blamed it on that.-

I have joked about there being a snow hole over Knightdale area where I’ve literally had a dusting and everyone around me get at least an inch. I’m looking at the radar now and I see this hole again. Is there any rhyme or reason to this because it can’t just be ironic. At least I’m on the cusp of it tonight.

WRAL going with whatever model shows the lowest amounts for their call. Is that really making a call if that's what you do all the time so you don't bust too high?
I hate WRAL from their news reporting to their opinion pieces to their weather forecasting. That’s why I joined this board. They lost me with the 2010 storm-

Some of you were really giving Brick a hard time the other day when things didn’t look so great (I kept receipts) so I hope if you’re getting snow you say something nice to him. I think I saw someone say they couldn’t believe that we let Brick start the thread. Not cool. I know it can be frustrating when you want snow so desperately and you’re not getting it, but we need to be kind to each other here. I hope everyone gets a little winter wonderland today!!!
I agree. I don’t know the back story with Brick but he has always been given a hard time, even in 2010 when I joined the boards. Cannot figure out why but I assume it’s all in fun.-

Raleigh folks must be asleep. Y'all gonna get sticking snow later this evening. Check out the NAM
Oh I’ve been awake since 2am. I have RSV and can’t breathe so this storm is the only good feeling I’ve had in the last 5 days.-
