MAXIMUM WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE IN THE 130 TO 160 MPH RANGE WITH GUSTS TO 185 MPH. DEVASTATING DAMAGE IS EXPECTED. COLLAPSE OF SOME RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURES WILL PUT LIVES AT RISK. AIRBORNE DEBRIS WILL CAUSE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. PERSONS...PETS...AND LIVESTOCK STRUCK BY THE WIND BLOWN DEBRIS WILL BE INJURED OR KILLED. I can't believe weather enthusiasts are calling this storm a bust when it's actively flooding the crap out of SE costal NC. I get that there are not Andrew-esque photos of obliterated mobile home parks due to Cat 4 winds or toppled oceanfront homes due to insane surge, but there is no doubt this is going to be a horrible flooding event for a lot of people.
There are multiple counties under FFEs and half of NC is under a FF Warning calling this a bust is insane.

Is this the first time that Flushing was used as a breakpoint for a Storm Surge Watch? I don't think I've ever seen them use Flushing before.
