  1. Lots of people including my family heading up to the mountains between Christmas and NY for skiing. Will or anyone else care to shed some light on what you think of the chances of rain/snow for the resorts, Stratton, Kmart, NH resorts etc.

    Any washout days? Thanks!

Well, heading out to soccer tourney in Lancaster. Ma. 8:00 game today and 8:00, 11:00 tomorow. Should be pleasant to stand in 20’s and wind . Enjoy the SE trends as they come in on 12z runs.

    Progin? FC Stars?

Crap-o-rama looks to be en route here tomorrow. No cold high to the north, FTL. A month from now you can get away without a cold high to the north more often, but this early in the season it can be tough even here to get a good snowstorm without it unless if midlevel forcing is enough to dynamically flip things to snow. NAM is warm between 800-900 mb and Euro too although I can't see soundings from it. HRRR looks like isothermal pasting but it's still beyond it's useful range.

Freezing rain to wet snow is what I think here, 2-4". Hopefully the freezing rain won't accrete too much, but with heavy rain and surface temperatures at or just barely below freezing I don't think it'll be too bad as the water will drip off before it can freeze.

I think at your elevation you’ll do much better. I’d expect a good 8-12” at Searsburg Pass.

  4. I’m also going Ikon with Stratton 12 minutes from me, and planning on Killington, Sugarbush and a long weekend Sugarloaf/Sunday River trip. Might go Epic next year because I’m 8 minutes from Mount Snow and throw in Stowe, Okemo, Hunter etc. Might mix it up. Of course the annual Magic Mountain powder days are a must.

  5. I think the loss of light and the pace of life change is the bummer. Work is lighter, life slower and people generally more relaxed in the   Summer. September brings school buses, early mornings, more demanding work and a return to real accountability in life. Summer is fleeting. Fall weather is great though often and I enjoy the colors, the foods, the sports. It’s just that summer makes you a kid again. Snowstorms do that too, that’s why we cherish them. They have a similar effect of slowing life down.
