  1. Welp. Looks like I misread Indiana. These kids just ain't it. I guess I should have known better as half the roster is from a school that is new to the FBS, but Rourke is rattled and their defense just doesn't have an answer. That sound you hear is South Carolina and Alabama fans getting ready to test the structural integrity of a soapbox. If this gets out of hand and State pounds SMU, the rest of the playoff will be played with a southern drawl yelling obscenities in the background that'll make you feel nostalgic for vuvuzealas.
  2. Currently it is snowing and sounds like some sleet is mixing in. Temperature is 29°F.
  3. Overnight Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 29. Southeast wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Friday Snow. High near 33. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Friday Night Snow likely, mainly before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 21. Light northwest wind increasing to 8 to 13 mph in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. Saturday A chance of flurries before 1pm, then a slight chance of snow showers after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 23. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  4. Mitchnick's wife attested that two inches once lasted from December 15th until just after New Year's. So maybe not.
  5. You're HR. He's going to need a salesman. Somebody Franklinesque.
  6. My being down on Georgia is predicated on two things: 1) Even with Carson Beck healthy, their offense was anemic. They went down 0-10 against Tennessee and Georgia Tech, running a service Academy offense had I think a 17 point lead on them? Mississippi basically tea bagged them and Alabama fell backwards while teabagging them and let Georgia come back. Tennessee letting Georgia back in that game and win it gives me incredible pause about them on their own accord and that's why I think Ohio State pushed their stool in Saturday night. But Georgia has on several occasions even with a healthy Beck stumbled out of the gates and inferior teams have gotten sizable leads. Now you can point to Georgia coming back against Tennessee and Tech and say "they're resilient," and there's a fair amount of truth to that, but Georgia Tech had some bad losses and Tennessee is, well, I think about to be exposed. This leads to make me believe that a team with a killer instinct should be able to take advantage of that and when they have their feet on the throat of the Bulldog, stomp on the windpipe. Indiana's issues against Ohio State were, in my honest opinion, big game nerves. The issues that sank them really were self-inflicted on special teams and those issues can be fixed. Notre Dame also got thrown apart by a bad USC team, and I think if they can't stop Rourke from throwing for a thousand yards, they had better run for two thousand just to escape tomorrow night. I also think Indiana plays as Curt Cignetti coaches. They have this "all gas, no brakes" approach and that kind of attitude in a bunch of kids who may not realize they're not supposed to be there makes them dangerous. 2) If Beck is out for good (it looks like he needs Tommy John surgery), they're going to need to rely on their backup QB. Now he was pretty good against Texas in the second half, but uh... Texas' offense is kinda non-existent, and so he didn't really need to play out of his head. How is he going to do if he needs to win a shootout? That's my biggest question on Georgia. Will they have to play a shootout or two? The one thing the SEC does is defense. They play incredible defense. But Georgia has shown streaks of susceptibility. If their defense slips up once or twice in one of these games, they may have to play catch-up with a backup QB. How does that go?
  7. I get it. There's that part of me that thinks this will be just like any other time but here's the thing and this isn't just me saying it. This is Joel Klatt saying it. This is Josh Pate saying it. This is most of the talking heads in the country saying it. Penn State almost *never* loses games they're supposed to win. The only teams that beat them are teams that are just better. Ohio State this year was picked by almost everyone to win the CFP. Oregon was picked by almost everyone to be a playoff team. Michigan last year was picked by almost everyone to get to the playoffs. The only other times they lose are to SEC teams in bowl games where PSU has a lot of opt-outs. Aside from that, they almost always win. And even this year, both of those losses were winnable. Allar makes a better read before that last interception against Oregon and maybe we're not even having this conversation. Kotelnicki doesn't try to get cute against Ohio State and they probably win that game. The losses this year have been closer and different. Because of that, and the way this team didn't fold against USC, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, that makes me believe it's going to take a lot to get past this team. And Southern Methodist ain't it.
  8. Gotta love a clipper. Cold and grey out today. 32°F at noon.
  9. I am saying SMU is inferior. Their QB holds the ball way too much, their offensive line folds under pressure pretty easily, their secondary is ass. Their run defense is good, but you're going to see Allen and Singleton eat late in the game after Warren eats early and the defense has to pass defend. Boise State is even more inferior. They're one generational talent who has played nobody but Oregon, whose run defense sucks ass. On paper, Penn State should cruise to the semifinal where I think Indiana awaits them. Indiana is going to throw for miles on ND and Georgia has no QB nor kicker. I think this half of the bracket is State and Indiana for the taking.
  10. Changed over to sleet around five and then we got a heavy enough shower that the ground whitened.
  11. Ground has caved here after the switchover to snow.
  12. Maybe he took your eye problem and you're healed.
  13. I did not. I affirmed his standing as a better man than you. I mean I'll kick Steve's ass lol. I'll kick everyone's ass in this room. Shouldn't be too hard. If I don't win the Elderly Home Royal Rumble, I've got biiiiiig problems.
  14. I think give it some time. I think this is just entering the consciousness of the collective. A few more news cycles in the pole position and somebody is headed to Jersey with 50 cal.
  15. UFOs. They're going to come out and announce that we have made contact with aliens and they have designated the current POTUS as global liason to the alien race, and this is how they enact a suspension of transfer and shit gets real. Gahdam this tinfoil hat is getting warm.
  16. Well in that case we should just bomb the airport. To the FBI agent searching for first and last names for watch lists after that comment. My name is Hugh Janus, and this is just a joke.
  17. Doesn't mean I would dry to the NWS office because the mean airport didn't put an amount I wanted lol.
  18. He's just asking another person to call CTP. He's only looking for 11,000 inches of snow.
  19. Are you really going to throw a tantrum with the official score because it didn't go your way?
  20. We're probably two CEOs away from lawyers being next up. Better eat fast lol
