  1. I have an untrained eye. Anyone have an idea on where the storm is currently compared to the model runs ? Is it more west or east ?
  2. Can literally feel the cold air set in. Working in brooklyn now , and the fingers have started to freeze , down to 35 and icy mix
  3. Looking at my ring live view looks like snowing now in fair lawn NJ.
  4. Calm down. I am aware accumulations and heavy snow doesnt start till later , just stating the rain is pretty serious right now and the ground will be wet and puddles are forming. Won't be easy for the snow to necessarily pile.up with ease.
  5. Rain in Brooklyn. This will impact snow totals if rain keeps up
  6. Working in Brooklyn right now. Light rain started
  7. Same here friend. Still have at least 6 inches on the ground and grass with bigger piles next to driveways and unused areas. This is going to be a back-breaking experience
  8. I caught a sick brain anurism reading this.
  9. This is very safe and an accurate forecast. They should leave it alone and let it rock
  10. Looks like our exact area is where the deathband in Northeastish NJ sets up
  11. Can someone enlighten me quickly on what the darker orange spots are here ? Its stronger bands correct ?
  12. I stand corrected, 33 miles from my parents house in brooklyn. Im 17 miles from manhattan. At the northern edge of fair lawn
  13. Fair Lawn NJ now under Blizzard warning, about 30 miles NW of manhattan
  14. Not sure why EURO is so low on the amounts, don't think that will verify. In a few hours we can begin nowcasting against prior runs for location of low and especially paying attention to the shorter range models tonight.
  15. Tonights HRRR will tell the story of phasing, banding and exact direction whether more west or east
  16. Expect the biggest bands and snow totals to lean more NWish once this storm starts up tomorrow. Seen it happen before and itll happen again. The banding is always a little more north , northwestish
  17. Do we have any real meteorologists here currently to give us their input ?
  18. Been saying it for 2 days now. It will trend another 50 - 100 miles NW tonight then tomorrow once the in range NAM shows the same it will be a wrap. Whoever is saying only about 6 to 8 inches of snow needs to update their forecast within 12 hours. Should be an easy swath of 12-18 inches NW of where it currently shows it.
  19. I expect a 50-75mile NW shift for these totals where the heaviest swath of snow will be wilmington, philly, ne nj, nyc to boston
