  1. Good winters have been hard to come by last few years, 2013/14 was last really good one. And I can’t remember the last long-duration lake effect event, gotta go back to 2007...
  2. Haven't measured exactly but I'd say we got 3" - 4" here at my place in Chagrin Falls, about 2mi south of the village itself.
  3. 13 deg and light snow here in CF, not too windy.
  4. Drive back from downtown to Chagrin Falls. I-77S was okay, not great, but once I got over Valley View then things took a turn for the worse. 480E was awful and it just got worse closer I got to Solon. Absolutely ripping out there, haven't seen it snow this hard for quite some time.
  5. It snowed here in CF almost all day yesterday, mostly just mood snow, but really nice. Today looks to be starting out similarly.
  6. It is absolutely pelting down here. Very heavy snow now, has been for the last half hour or so.
  7. I made the mistake of going to the Giant Eagle in Tanglewood via Chagrin Rd about a half-hour ago. The roads were bad on the way out, 15 mins at the supermarket, they were atrocious on the way back and getting worse. Lucky I have AWD and snow tires on...! We've easily had 3 - 4" since late this afternoon. Moderate to heavy snow here at my place 2mi S of Chagrin Falls village.
  8. Another band of moderate snow just started up here 1mi south of Chagrin Falls. I'd say easy 12" on our deck right now. I woke up earlier this morning at around 5:30am and it was howling outside, very heavy snow. It always seems the events that aren't programmed to become the ones that overperform.
  9. On a positive note, my snow removal bill is going to be low for the second year in a row!
  10. 2004 was the year I moved here from Philly. My first Xmas was spent in Shaker Hts. The day before was cold, maybe high teens, and snowing, and Xmas day itself was beautiful too. Since then I have yet to see any kind of snowfall on Xmas day. Kind of crazy considering how much snow we generally get on the east side...
  11. Heavy snow here in Chagrin Falls now, started about 10 - 15 mins ago, very gusty outside.
  12. I am literally smack under the band, heavy snow here for last few hours and still going strong. Roads are atrocious, good to see Mother Nature back in business here again.
  13. I'm actually thankful for an early end to winter this year. The cold in Jan and Feb was just brutal, the roads were awful, snow just kept piling up, heating bills were absurdly high. I yearn for a good old snowy NE Ohio winter with plenty of lake effect snow, plenty of warm shots in between, and, especially, snow on Xmas Day itself. I've been in CLE for over 10 years and the only truly snowy Xmas day I can recall was Dec 2004. We've had dribs and drabs since but nothing earth shattering. Bring on BBQing season.
