Looks like tomorrow is gonna be a toaster for Minneapolis. Highs around 96 with heat index values up to 108 with an excessive heat warning.

Sky is getting very dark here. I'm guessing that @OrdIowPitMsp got some hail to the Northeast of me.
-
Maybe 0.2 inches of rain at most here. Thought we would get a bit more but it was just showers throughout the day.
-
93 degrees here as well. My parents are telling me how nice it is in NJ where its 77 degrees with dewpoints in the 50s.

Got a decent shower imby but areas under tree canopy stayed dry.
Saw some dark clouds around but no rain here unfortunately.

There is hope for some solid rain across Iowa and Minnesota this weekend as a low slowly traverses the region.
Hope so, we need some rain to replace the drought. Looks like Euro is on board with a good soaking for Central and southern Minnesota, but the GFS is thinking mainly Iowa as of the 12z runs today.

Pretty warm day here, high around 87 degrees. Looks like a few lines of thunderstorms to the north, but are breaking up. Next couple days look hot with highs in the mid 90s.

Yesterday was an amazing day to be outside. It was bright and sunny with a high of 79 and fresh air.

Ok I was wrong, a thunderstorm has popped up and created a mini river on the roads. Temp has dropped from 91 to 77 within a matter of minutes.

Hit 90 degrees here. Looks like some thunderstorms to the NW but they should pass to the north. Good day for the pool!

Stuff is exploding to my west, looks like a line is trying to get together with the bigger complex to my north. Getting interesting.
Edit: Outflow from the storms to my north just blew through. Strong north wind and quickly plunging temps. Always cool to be outside to experience the sudden change in airmass.
Yep looks like the outflow from the storms are just about to blow through my area as well, but seems like the storms are staying to the north of us for now.

Looks like it’s about 87 degrees already out there, let’s see how hot it’ll get!

Shifted southward towards the Cities. Missed me altogether. Darn, but they sure need it down there. Enjoy!
We sure do need it with the drought and all. Definitely been an active night so far!

Yes it is. But the pattern, and possible tropical system I'm forecasting are being captured here. We'll see in a couple weeks what it actually ends up being like.
You might be on to something here, looks like a few runs actually show sizable tropical systems, but yea we shall see in the coming weeks.

Already feeling toasty out there with 88 degrees as of 11:30am, but looks like some thunderstorm possibilities later in the evening and night time.

Still waiting for one electrically active storm this summer up here. SE side has done better.
We had like one crazy thunderstorm with lots of lightning and some small hail, but other than that, it feels like a pretty quiet summer so far.

I’m a few blocks east of Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis. About the driest spot in the metro.
Got caught up in a nice downpour driving south on 35W through Blaine earlier this afternoon.
Nice! I was just there last week showing my brother around Minneapolis. I'm like 5 miles to your west and south near the Southdale Mall. I saw that storm on the radar, but it just got dark here, no rain here for us.

0.89” so far in July. It’s crispy out there, and the heat is about to get cranked up. Smoke got pretty bad yesterday afternoon, hopefully the southerly flow pushes it out.
Cool to see another active twin cities poster.
Howdy partner! Where in Hennepin county are you?
Warm day out there, but seems like there's a few storms forming to the NW of the Twin cities.

I agree, I’m totally fine with -30 F but definitely not okay with 100 F+ lol

Looks like the middle of the country is in for a heatwave, northern edge in southern Minnesota.
