I guess that Sharon total could be legit with stoughton coming in similar

I'm still not buying it. Canton reported 21, I used to live there before Walpole and we were always similar as Canton, Stoughton, and Sharon all border each other. 9 inches higher is so much more. Qunicy at 30, Canton 21, Sharon 30...it doesn't make sense. The band skipped over Canton?

Yes it does. If this would've captured earlier and slowed it would've made a run at it. I'll be 61 in a few weeks. All the big storms since the 78 blizzard it has been said many times, that was a big storm but doesn't compare to the 78 blizzard. I had 3 feet of snow on the street I'm at now. It was my parents at the time. It took a 5 yard payloader to clear the street. Even that thing started to spin tires after pushing up a 20 foot pile of snow. Driver would back up floor it and smash the pile into someone's lawn. 4 days before they cleared the street. Don't think I'll see that again in my life time.

always go back to 78, but truly, a league of it's own...if you didnt experience it, then you look at the numbers, but the numbers don't do it justice....this was a great storm, and we have had many great storms since, but that one will always stand alone....Vinny, where in Cranston? I was on Community Drive, Edgewood, will never forget the front end payloaders finally clearing the streets...sorry, old guy will stop now...this too was a great storm...

Also, I usually just add stabilizer right to the gas can itself before refilling it...a lot easier than trying to mix it into every single tank of the actual equipment itself.

That's a great suggestion, thanks. I never thought to do it that way. It's always the simple thing that makes a difference.

I honestly should move to the south shore.

    #uckit

Funny you say that Ray. Being a long time lurker and enjoying reading you through they years, I though that same thing yesterday. My area always seems to do pretty well, if I could be a bit further to the west and north toward 495 that might be a bit better, but I usually don't have many complaints in this location.

Welp ... I've gone and done it.  I've managed to earn myself what in all objective sense of it should as well be construed as a well-deserved and legitimate idiot check from moderation.  Ah, a warning  -

Just waded into the wrong sub-forum, and let probably what is regular fair in that Off-Topic realm, pot shots masquerading behind a thin veil of congeniality, get the better of me.   The only difference was ...I chose a direct approach - heh.. enter imagination here (   ).

Funny thing is... if you cross that congeniality line too far and earn one of these warnings, apparently you can't do anything else until you acknowledge the warning.  That's fine ...I understand the necessity to make sure the point is driven home, but to excoriate one, when the there is just as much at fault and doesn't get reprimanded, merely because they didn't use the c* word ( hahaha... I know, I got no excuse - ), ...effectively condones their behavior.

I guess that's why they call it Off Topic?

    Cheers -

Stay here in NE Tip, the rest of them are toxic....

He got suspended for that? Big yikes

Completely unfair that Phin would get suspended for that interaction. I have no axe to grind against either man, I don't know either. But Forky comes in here for the sole intent to troll and has for years. I'm sure @PhineasC isn't for all, but I have enjoyed his posts from the north and I think he has added value to our New England group. This situation certainly seems to be the favored versus the unfavored.

    What a dumb post

I have to agree. Chris gets a mulligan on that, people died, that is the story, We dont need to cast blame, humans really aren't in control, despite the fact we think we are. Bless their families.

People diss the 1980s and talk about forecast busts. How about this one. My forecast was for flurries and light snow to an inch. 22 inches later on Dec 5th 1981, of course, a mighty blizzard hit. My favorite positive bust of all time. Also at the time was the earliest heaviest snow since you guessed it. DEC 5TH 1926

    https://www.nytimes.com/1981/12/07/us/unpredicted-storm-brings-new-england-up-to-2-feet-of-snow.html

I remember this storm well. Driving down Park Ave in Cranston to go eat at Chelo's with mom and dad wondering what the hell is going on...don't mean to sound old, but those who are not of that generation can't even fathom the extent to which technology and info have changed the game.

While living through it in the time, you really have no idea what's going on other than thinking this shouldn't be happening....no computer, no live tv updates, no spotter reports to tap into and get info...only thing to do was call the weather bureau recorded phone forecast in Warwick at Green Airport, I think that number was 401-738-1211? Was a great positive bust.
