28 and snow. Got a coating so far..more so than yday. What exactly is this, renegade lake effect snow band?

The gd Ole inverted trof. Right over or just south of us..southern part of the city should be getting some very gd snows rn moving now very slowly.

Still coming down moderatelyRadar looks pretty good Wonder if we can squeeze out an inch with this

I'll prob bet the over on this one. This blob of moisture isn't gonna move much or very slowly for the next hour or so..everything is already snow covered here .I'll take this on my birthday:snowing:

As I said yesterday this bore some resemblance to 12-11-93...difference is no negative tilt this time so the snow band is going to rotate through quickly.  Interesting how in both cases almost 30 years apart the models did not see the snow correctly associated with the vort/trof and incorrectly placed too much precip earlier.

You know as you look at it in action now, its trying to go neutral. Oh so close.. lol:weenie:

All that in central PA will dry up as it comes over the mountains and downslopes. Maybe there can be a coating with some snow squalls later under the trough. But overall a lame event. Finally seeing some snow flurries here.

Well it could be worse, boston is still liquid. The rain/snow line is crawling across new england now, taking its time..for us here we still have a chance of a surprize later on. The upper disturbance still has to come thru.

It's going to be very difficult for the city on east to accumulate anywhere near 6 inches. This thing is flying and is basically over by late afternoon. I think the nam is way overdone in my area in MHV also. We are not getting 9-10 inches. It would be great by I don't see anybody in the area getting more than 6-7 inches N and W and far less NYC and east.

Yeah im not on the 9 inch bandwagon either but with heavy precip and a flash freeze,I  think it piles up fast and I do think we reach 4 to 6 here in the city. Snow ratios are going increase as it gets colder also which should maximize accumulations before it ends
