That 12z GFS run was meant to be the final FU this winter to all of us in SNE.

And mid Atlantic. We all got screwed at. Least you guys got something December 1st and 2nd

  3. I can’t stand warm air, I can’t stand the humidity. It’s like if I ever was an object I’d be a snowman on the South Pole. I just love holding ice and snow and cannot stand anything warm!

In still holding out hope for this weekend

You’re the ultimate weenie, give it up, it’s dead Jim. Than again this kinda reminds me of March 22nd 1998 situation where New York City got 5 inches that early morning.

But the fast PAC flow was pointed out. The flow was never buckled enough to drive the height falls all the way N.

The ridge just rolled over and it could not phase.

Next storm the one you just pointed out to Anthony, there may be some blocking with that one, still way too early to call anything but that’s like our last grasp.

    You were never close.

The blocking is the issue, the phase doesn’t happen because the southern stream kicks due east. While the northern stream wave gives us the light snow showers and or rain. If this would have phased, it would have been a monster and we would have had a blizzard

The average highs in March range from 46 to 55 in NYC. 70 is well above normal for any point in the month. I’ll sign up for some days like that, especially after what March has given us the last few years.

Dude we’ve had 70’s in january

Looking like we could really see a run at 70 next week. That is truly impressive and will be the first spring break to feel like spring around here for those on break. Few years ago we spent spring break on our 'babymoon' covering San Diego, Palm Spring, Mount San Jacinto, and Phoenix. It was amazing and probably my favorite area of the country. From the beach to snow in one day? Yes please!

We’ve had 90’s in March, 70’s are not that impressive

You must be 30 or younger...

I’m 35 but I used to live in Luxembourg and I moved here back in May of 97. I missed the big blizzard of 96 and I was here for the miserable 97-98 winter but we got lucky in New York City around March 22nd of 98 we had 5.5 surprising snowstorm that hit. It was supposed to be a non event and we got a burst of heavy snow. That made my winter. Coming from Luxembourg we got some good snows back when I lived there but New York City I think averages a bit more if I’m not mistaken.

If the precip is light or moderate it would likely be white rain, which could happen if the low is bombing well out at sea and moving east. If it's closer and heavy bands come through, it would crash down to 32 and be accumulating. But a ways to go before figuring that out.

I give up this is white rain for us and we move on maybe some accumulations by Montauk Saturday morning. I’m done!
