Most of the power grid down this way is above ground.

I know a lot was said about moving it underground after Sandy but it hasn't happened yet.

I think most of NYC is underground which is why those areas are more immune to ice storms but the suburbs are a completely different story.

NJ, I’m in the haverstraw area of rockland county and the lines on my block and in my area are underground

I don't know... Population wise, I'd say far more people are in the snow zone than out of it. Long Island and coastal CT are definitely in our forum area and the metropolitan area. As is coastal NJ. Sorry for the inland, north and west folks.

What do you of us in westchester and rockland?? How do think we are fairing ??

Given the patterns this season, the fact that the metro area is on the western end of this, and the excitability of this forum over the last month… I wouldn’t cancel a thing…yet

Have to cancel by midnight tomorrow.. hopefully we will know better by then

I do not agree with this. It is one run cycle during which every model is somewhat flatter/further south and east and the ECMWF is only very slightly further south and east & importantly to note, slower. That slowness continues the threat into Sunday with some question marks. One is timing. There are numerous impulses of energy s/w's into the southern stream which could develop. Which one is it going to be or will it be consolidated into one? The European IMO keeps this threat in play maybe another 12 hours later.  The Euro is not bad. It holds serve.

Thank you for your input and insight.. so much better than “it’s terrible” “it’s all over” doom and gloom posts that we see all the time
