  1. A great day to slow roast a 15lb Turkey in the oven.  Rain falling outside " The Hobbit, an unexpected journey" on tv, and the house smells like Thanksgiving.  I feast today, and the mosquitos feast tomorrow.

You can stick around. People can and do post in the spring and summer. It was nice to get a day above 60 yesterday, and nice to have a morning that wasn't freezing. I like four seasons. Spring is one of the four I very much like.

#1 Fall, #2 winter, #3 spring, #4 summer.  I'm not a fan of anything over 80.  If at any point we have something tropical threatening the east coast I'll be back in.

i don't hate my brackets so far.  zags in one, duke in another.  still have all my elite 8s...for now.

I had Villanova beating duke in the finals.  Other then that I'm good.

After my New England ski trip, including a powder day yesterday at Mt Snow, I'm finally ready for spring. Bring on the 60s and 70s.

I hear you man!  I'm ready to get out there and do a little yard work and swat some skeeters while I'm watching the sunset with a glass of ice tea

  5. I went 20-12 in the first round, but I still have 7 of my Elite 8 teams and 12 sweet 16 teams left in the fight.  I took a big gamble and went with Villanova repeating this year.  Yes I have a 6 seed team beating Duke in the finals

  6. My grade was based on what I would like to see, not climo.  If I crushed my climo by 10" with 1 storm in December and it didn't snow again the rest of the winter I would see it as a fail.  All of the standing water around my house from the rain rarely had ice on it.....fail.  Any snow that fell was gone the next day.....fail

I just took a trek to the back part of my property yesterday to throw some larvacide dunks in my 'protected woodland wetland'. It is a bit more expansive this year. The perfect mosquito breeding ground. I have already decided after last summer I am buying a professional sprayer, so I can do a pro larvacide job and also deal with the inevitable rounds of adults through the late spring and into summer.

    Good luck!!

So this is how my weekend started at 5 am this morning. My beater, AKA Dog Mobile, took a hit. Guy sideswiped one of my neighbors cars before plowing into my neighbors second car which ended up resting on top of my car. Thankfully he wasn't hurt but I have a feeling my car may have seen its last days (thinking it will be totaled) as well as possibly my neighbors second car. Have had that Cavalier since 2002 and the only major money I ever put into it was for a rusted tail pipe. Even though it looked a little rough I loved that car, had a stick and was much easier on gas then my pickup. Have to now decide whether it is worth reinvesting in a 3rd vehicle again. The weekend can only improve from here, Right?

What's the best place in the US to move with the following criteria:

    1) Serious snowfall and snowcover

    2) Extended stretches of cold

    3) Access to at least a regional airport within 45 mins.

    4) Somewhat built-up, at least a small city nearby.

Marquette,MI or Gaylord, MI would be a great spot.  Both of them are in the heart if the michigan lake effect snow belts.  If you like snowmobiling, they have hundreds of miles of groomed trails for sledding.  I grew up in michigan and have a lot of great memories from the awesome winters.  And the icefishing....probably my favorite.
