Close call for OPM. 2-4” is usually not shutdown worthy but the timing is dicey.
Dont they usually use the LWX warnings? Which they already put a warning out with more snow than that. Guess they could change it today though.

It appears we may get another burst that's southwest of us.
Oh nice! Yeah, got a decent coating here but nothing crazy.

Completely stopped now, guess thats it!

Was snowing heavy in Alexandria, cars and grass covered. Seems to have lightened up a lot though.

The weekies seemed to have toned down relative looks to the extreme they had on the last update. I continue to feel the MJO this year does not get enough attention for messing things up. There have been issues with the MJO phases and the extreme Pac Jet over and over again.
I do feel the Nino is pathetic. For coming up on Feb., the favored time and the Nino effects, for us the look is disappointing.

Seems crazy but I will hug this like crazy.
How the heck do I get a Tweet to show up on here? Can't figure it out.
What are the chances of that happening?

No. HRRR has the coastal dropping an additional 2-5" DC south.
Oh, nice! That's awesome. Wont bother clearing the car or anything else off then. Thanks!

Is it pretty much over?

Serious lull going on here...

Non-treated streets starting to cave.

Rate is picking up, dusting on cars and ground.

DCA somehow reporting SN- but it's 33°. Terrible place for an observing station.
I am right by DCA and am having very light flakes now. Can see it on the top of cars.

The forecast of 8-12 for DCA is a joke. They MIGHT record 5 or 6. Of course, just outside the airport could definitely verify those numbers.
I am like a mile from the airport, hope the eight verifies here... lol
