Although the memories of the February Blizzard of 1978 remain keen, the post Christmas 2010 storm is tops on my list. My niece and her 7 yr old daughter arrived from Florida several days before Christmas. The youngster had never seen snow before. There was reasonable certainty of some light snow starting late Christmas day or the following. I thought I'd be clever and bought her a snow globe and told her if she kept shaking it, we might get some snow. By late evening on the 26th, it was snowing so hard she became frightened and hid the globe in a closet. We ended up with 29". 

Bless the clown maps....they always lift my spirits LOL

Greetings, all. Been lurking here for years, just installed an ambient WS in the yard, and decided to sign on.

Full disclosure; not much weather knowledge, and am a TOTAL snow fan. Reading the pbp's during snow events is my favorite.
