  1. I'm hoping that if it does make landfall on the Carolinas that it somehow continues to track westward towards the central states and then straight up into Canada and doesn't make the northward curve back towards NYC so NYC can also escape getting hit with the remnants. We always seem to get hit with the remnants which in turn still gives us cloudy dreary miserable weather which in that case if this is always gonna happen with us east coast landfall hurricanes then we might as well have it make a direct hit on our area since it will still give us cloudy rainy miserable weather either way. I live in the NYC area and am getting so tired of the unsettled stretch with weekends of late in particular which seems to be the target time frame yet again for us if that damn hurricanes remnants bothers us. I'm so sick of it already and want nicer weekends already
  2. Stormlover74? I sure hope so but let it stay sunny and warm until Thanksgiving is over and not get ugly just in time for Thanksgiving and the Thanksgiving weekend to ruin the holiday weekend
  3. Not true. NYC is not Seattle Washington. The clouds and rain are typical of Seattle Washington weather not NYC weather. This crap of nasty gray miserable Mays and Junes didn't even happen hardly at all when I was a kid growing up. We always had nice summery warm Mays and Junes plus this isn't even on the subject I asked which is about hoping that after September 11, if the heat breaks from September 12 onward that the gloominess doesn't come back for a while and that the nicer temps that most people like stays with not too much cloud cover or rain
  4. I still hope after September 11 that it doesn't get gloomier again for quite a while behind this heat. Hope starting September 12 that the cloud cover stays at a minimum for an extended period of time even if we wind up getting any onshore flow
  5. Hope the GFS is wrong. Really don't want to have to deal with more gloominess and chill again for quite a while if it must come back. Let it wait at least until November and not anymore during this summer after we get through today and tomorrow. I want that summer time heat back next week and I want it to stay for a while
  6. The only area I'm concerned about is NYC and the 5 boroughs since that's where I live. Hope the clearing line makes it there today as well and that we continue to have that break in the cloud cover going into tomorrow as well
  7. Another thing that is concerning me is why is an onshore flow giving an issue with cloud cover for today and tomorrow even though the ocean temps are much warmer this time of year than in April and May. Thought during the summer months that the onshore flow doesn't have as strong as an influence in terms of cloud cover and cooler temps like it does in April and May when the ocean temps are significantly colder. Just don't get it? I don't mind the cooler air but not with gray skies and no sun at all
  8. This is not a backdoor front though. This is a cold front that approached from the west and decided to stall to our south. Just hoping for those breaks of at least seeing some sun both today and tomorrow before the great lovely summer weather makes that comeback on Sunday. I know many people hate the summer heat and humidity but I love it much better thaan the clouds and chill
  9. Why is an onshore flow giving an issue with cloud cover for tomorrow and Saturday even though the ocean temps are much warmer this time of year than in April and May. Thought during the summer months that the onshore flow doesn't have as strong as an influence in terms of cloud cover and cooler temps like it does in April and May when the ocean temps are significantly colder. Just don't get it? I don't mind the cooler air but not with gray skies and no sun at all
  10. It looks pretty bad out there this morning in Queens. The sky is dark enough to make it look like it's night time out. Hoping much of this will end for a while with some sun to come out before noon before our next round arrives. Have to go out and don't want to get drenched. When it's torrential downpours even an umbrella won't keep anyone dry.
  11. Snoski14? I know it didn't happen once this month but what I am saying is that I hope it doesn't happen this entire weekend on either day
  12. The rain is fine just am hoping for it to be typical August precip with the convection type and then some sun out in between the rainy periods and not typical April stratiform all day gray gloomy stuff in the middle of the summer
  13. I'm hoping it will decide to happen sooner than that though at least by next weekend to give us a shot at having a nicer weekend than what is expected this weekend. So many people look forward to weekends in the summer for going to the beach and shores and the weekends are the most important days for it to be nice so I'm hoping it decides to happen by next weekend rather than waiting until July 31 or August 1
  14. I'm hoping the WAR decides to retrograde a bit westward back towards the coast to give us a shot at getting more summer time warmth and keeping the moisture pump just to our west instead of right over us with less unsettled weather and a bit more sun
  15. Also when is the precip from the weekend tropical storm supposed to start and end?
