It's been snowing steady all morning here in Greeneville. Ironically I think I have more snow this morning than all yesterday combined.

I just don't get it, even with the heavier bands we get a few minutes of big fat flakes coming down hard then it's as if the heavier bands break up over my area and it transitions back to light drizzle. Officially throwing the towel in, travel around here is going to be treacherous though with all the water and slush freezing tonight
This ranks to me as one of biggest busts in memory for Greeneville. So frustrating especially when we see all the amazing totals from areas nearby. Would be lying if I said I wasn’t mad.

It's finally staying all snow here
I'm glad to hear that! Wild that it's still rain here and we are only four miles apart
-
Still rain here in Greeneville. I'd imagine we are in the running for the bust award for this system. Western and Northern Greene Co have healthy 4-5'' totals. What a total warm nose screw job lol

Back to rain here. One of the worst days of tracking snow I can ever remember
I feel your pain. We've been in the same boat all day.

We've still got many hours left, once the heavier bands make this way and sun angle goes down, it should accumulate quickly. Also what part of G Vegas you in? Got about 2-3 inches still here
You've done better than I have. I'm near Tusculum. Had roughly an inch of mush until this rain started again.

Dude this is far from being over lol
I normally would agree but the rain has already washed all the snow away again at my house. We would probably be around 3-4" right now if it had snowed all day. I just do not see us rebounding to hit the MRX 4-6". Hopefully I81 along the northern county has fared better.
-
Raining again Greeneville. We had roughly an inch. That should just about do it. Just not enough time for there to be any serious accumulation. Congrats to all who hit it big with this one. It's criminal what the warm nose did to the upper valley. Hopefully we get a 4-6'' snow before the season is over.

Greeneville has had steady snow again for an hour and half. The warm nose is right on top of us. Woulnt be shocked to transition back again for a couple of hours before the evening final push.

The rain washed away our progress but we are back to big flakes in Greeneville. If we could keep the majority snow until the system moves we still have time to rebound to 3-4".

Interestingly, we've stayed all snow in northern Greeneville, however my sister which lives 10 miles south is mixing
I wouldnt be shocked to see 4-5' difference on both sides of the county. I'm still hoping Greeneville stays on the winning side.

Temp 30.0 I have switched to sleet/drizzle in lighter rates. The closest model to my temps right now is the gfs and fv3. Meso models arnt even remotely close.
regardless I am mixing and signs of mixing are widespread at the moment
It's off and on flakes here in Greeneville. I felt good the mix line would stay to our south but Im not encouraged by the widespread reports of mixing especially this early in the day.

Just switched to rain/sleet here in Greeneville. Not looking good now. Pain if this busts here.

32 degrees 20 do in Greeneville, radar looking healthy!
Hoping we cash in! If we get 4” I’ll be happy.

I’m about to stick a fork in East TN. It’s been horrible trends the last 24 hrs. I feel we will be lucky to see 2” in the upper valley. Hopefully we get a good system come through in Feb. We are ridiculously overdue a good snow.

I'd actually call the ICON pretty kind to probably 80 percent of East Tennessee.
I'm in Greeneville. I do not like seeing the cutoff right on our county. When it's been nearly two years since a decent snow that drives you crazy lol
-
Icon and Nam bust for East TN. Man we are so close to this event. It's frustrating.
-
Not feeling so good about this one in upper East TN. Looks like the sharp cutoff line of snow will be just west of us unless things begin to change soon. I'm hoping 3-5'' before the event is over.

Been snowing steady for about 30 mins and the ground is turning white. If it keeps this up through 8am I’d say it will be out best snow since Christmas Day 2020

And first flakes have arrived. Good size ones too

Definitely feeling that valley dry air. Nothing yet this way since the heavy rain moved out. Need to pick up in the next hour if we expect to hit 5-6 inches

After my snow dreams were crushed by the warm nose yesterday I’m not betting against the models showing the warm nose again this Friday. Not getting burned twice in one week. Hope we get a nice surprise.
