It's coming down good here. We've got at least 4-5". Doug Heady just updated and says some areas will see 6-9".
Amazing...

Possible half inch here on sunday night or so.. but who really knows. Looks to me something is going to set up in the south/Tex again. No shock there.

Shame we couldn't get a massive storm with all this cold air, what a waste
Yep all this cold air and without snow.. kind of depressing to me. But thats just me. Everyone stay warm.
-
Well it got down to -1 this morning. Having the heater work overtime here for sure.

Interesting 00z NAM looks alot like todays GFS. It looks kind of that way to me at least.

The Euro and GFS split really early on about what to do with energy diving down the backside of the trough. One will be wrong of course. The relevant area is over WA/ID. The Euro crushes it, the GFS doesn't.
n the long term, the GFS and Euro are still split with the GFS wanting to rebuild the -EPO right it looks like and the Euro not having any of it.
GFS caves to the Euro in the end it seems right? I think thats the case. I could be wrong though. Oh and its supposed to be around 0 tonight.. we'll see if that happens.

Is that a typical model bias for each or just the way they are reading this pattern?
From what I remember the GFS has/had a cold bias in the past. NAM would have a wet bias and the Euro would hang energy in the SW.. Jomo may have more imput on that. Pattern wise they are not that far off on that from what I can see right now.

Am I missing something here? I have had two different people today (on other sites) tell me there isn't much difference in EURO and GFS temps. From what I see, 12z Monday shows a -20 at SGF and the EURO shows 18 above zero. That's almost a 40º temp difference. Am I missing something?
EURO is warmer overall. GFS is way colder.

12z GFS looks awesome for the weekend. But the Canadian lost the storm. Still plenty of time.
EDIT: GFS temps are absolutely insane. At least 24 hours below zero. I can't even imagine.
GFS is nutty.

Merry Christmas to all!

Lots of signals for a couple of rounds of wintry precip this week. Set up looks more icy and sleety to me, but that can and likely will change.
Yea and GFS with its crazy well below 0 temps around New Years Day.. haha

Been heavy flurries all morning long a "deep" dusting I would say I have here. Winter Weather ADV North and south of me.. not a surprise there. Guess better then nothing.

Bad luck, it usually follows me too lol when it comes to snow. Im actually shocked to have gotten what I did last night. Have hope though man, you should be in a better place for snow now!
I hope so. NWS has 60-70 percent chance of snow.. however ive seen high chances and got nothing alot of times.

Spot your location changed under your name, I thought you were in Oklahoma? I would think central missouri will get more snow than where you were if so!
Moved this past summer. It doesnt matter where I go... it just wont snow for me for some weird reason.

Congrats all of you that got some snow. I missed it again. Nothing new I suppose. Still chance for some light snow Sunday.

Been sleeting forever here.
I can see a few stars up this way. Hope you guys get something down there. Models of course try and paint another system in the days ahead but you all know how that is.

NWS is buying the HRRR and holding the snow off until way after midnight. Sounds about right, never easy to get snow here.
Nothing here either going south.. gahh never get a break wherever I am.

Looks like it. That's with included sleet. I think 6.9" is actually 'snow' here. All dependent on if the upper storm can hold together and not fall apart.
Dang thats alot of snow the NAM is showing down there. Crazy

Yeah, there's even no consistency on the Euro today. Tough to time any systems when they system timing changes from run to run and location changes hundreds of miles every run on every model.
Not fun time for meteorologists thats for sure.
-
Euro gives some light snow.. But whether that really does occur is another story.
-
Crazy GEM AND GFS mid/late next week system. To bad nothing close to any of that will happen.
-
00z GFS continues the warming trend for Christmas now in the 30s. Showed teens/20s just a day or 2 ago.
-
Kansas City doesn't think much of it at all. 30% chance of light snow is all.
-
Some changes for sure this morning in the GFS and GEM. Wonder what the EURO will do with it all?
