  1. GFS, just go home. You are drunk and lost at this point.
  2. That last line is gold. Gold star for that guy. LOL! The UKMET is hot garbage.
  3. Tons of sleet. I don't have the model total but it was mainly sleet for the typical CAD prone areas all the way into Atlanta.
  4. Lookout was a good one. I hate he's not around these parts anymore.
  5. The NAM at 84 is North. Yikes. I will say, it started wayyy North on last week's storm.
  6. Our snow run from the 12Z is gone here in GA on the front end, its all sleet and ZR. Might be a good snow run for NC crew but it is hot garbage here compared to the 12Z. Upper layers much warmer.
  7. I'm in the typical CAD zone and I am praying for sleet or snow. Just do not want that ZR junk. Like I told a friend of mine, if I cut the EURO numbers in half, we are still in a deep, deep mess.
  8. Yep. We had a good one in 2000, but it wasn't this big. I am just praying it all turns to sleet at this point. I don't want any part of that mess.
  9. For GA folks, this starts on the EURO about 7AM Saturday morning and doesn't stop freezing rain / sleet until Sunday at midnight. Dare I say this will be the ice storm of the century as modeled? That just seems insane to type. I hope it's a raging sleet storm otherwise, we are in deep poo.
  10. Ditto. The EURO is going to be a DRUNK RAGER of an ice storm. I think you boys up in NC are going to score a pile of snow. Upstate SC, your power is not on and neither is mine Saturday afternoon. I will be asleep to the hum of the generator Sunday morning.
  11. Major Sleet storm for Georgia peeps as modeled currently. Layers are colder and not as shallow as previous GFS runs.
  12. I would have to look but I know here 1973 was a legendary ice storm in Atlanta. I think it was something like 3/4 to 1" of ice. My parents talk about it all the time.
  13. I hope to God a lot of that is sleet. This run of the EURO was slower to get the moisture in here. Previous EURO had precip starting in GA Saturday morning, now it is Saturday evening.
  14. Not trying to start an argument, but correct me if I am wrong, didn't the UK absolutely whiff at the system we had move through here this past Saturday / Sunday? As I recall it was too warm at this range and pretty close to the event. The EURO had it in spades and everyone else played catchup. Feel free to set me straight.
  15. I get that, but when it gets close, it makes it impossible to read. Like @buckeyefan1 said, it's been a minute since we've needed one of these, but with this much model agreement and so much winter wx coverage of multiple SE states, its probably needed.
  16. Some of us will need a cliff to jump off of. Feel free to jump here. Let's try and keep the one liners and weeping and nashing of teeth off the main thread.
  17. Understood. As a UGA fan I had to wait a LONG time to get the monkey off my back. No offense taken. LOL!!!
  18. Painful. Waste of a good shot at winning.
  19. I pull for everyone on this board. I am used to the different state bias, but I think a lot of "drive by" folks see that kind of comment and think it's storm cancel for them and it's just not. The EURO is so flat, I just don't buy it but maybe I am wish-casting. I would prefer the 00Z GFS to pop a lot on this board including the mountain folks.
