Just had the first burst of sleet that was audible from inside, right as the roads started getting covered.

Weird though it still only mentions an inch of snow. Isn’t WSW criteria 3 inches?
I was wondering if they pushed the warning out first with adjustments to forecast to follow, but the text in the warning doesn't seem to suggest an increase to forecast accumulations...

Flurries that quickly changed over to light snow, and now back to flurries around Swift Creek. I stepped outside and didn't feel any sleet, but I think I heard a little bit.

NWS currently has it Snow and Freezing Rain, 0.5 - 0.75" qpf
Lot riding on that ratio

Feels like it's me against the rest of the board with all of you wanting a NW trend and me down here in ILM just praying we don't end up with 34 degree rain
If we can't reel it in, I hope y'all get crushed!

Just took a walk around the neighborhood with the family, and it had switched to all sleet, if not even a little zr as well.

Where is a good site for radar coverage with p-types?
https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/?parms=RAX-N0B-0-24-100-usa-rad
You can futz around with the different products, here. I don't have the knowledge or experience to guide you, but I know the CC radars are good for showing discontinuities that might represent p-type changes.

Light flurries and sleet. Rates picked up vs ~30 minutes ago, but not heavy.

Sleet and light flurries mixing here

Greenville/Spartanburg an obscure location?
It's alright, we deal with that attitude in state. You just learn to ignore them, and they go back to their simpler pleasures.

He's either high or it's lake effect snow. I'm leaning towards high.
I'm not too far from that supposed Shearon Harris Reservoir-Effect plume, and, no.
Husband's boss needs to lay off the edibles this early in the day.-

From the event thread:
25 minutes ago, HKY_WX said:Euro has a nice band over NE NC/SE VA as the SLP starts to deepen off of NC. Something to watch, as it could lead to some higher totals in that area. You can see a reflection aloft at 850mb developing offshore NC on the Euro. This will likely enhance totals in that band due to some moisture advection/lift/dendrite growth. Not sure it would qualify to be declared a "deformation zone" but an area of enhancement.
It wouldn't be a classic NC storm if we didn't screwed to the West AND the East.

NAM seems to be like Patti Labelle and on its own.
Perhaps the NAM will be shot by the Gendarmerie while staking its principled stand on a ramshackle barricade.

Yeah, we had a nice storm this morning, including a pretty close strike, and it definitely didn't take all the energy for the afternoon. We are getting positively dumped on in Apex, with lots of lightning, too.

This place dies right before and during storms. Seems like more are here for the chase than the goods.
I imagine most of us are spending as much time now watching radars and weather station statuses, and looking out the window.

It's gonna be so hilarious when it keeps trending all the way west of Raleigh and we totally bust...

It's amazing how much being a winter weather lover here is like being an NC State basketball fan. Somehow, you always get sucked into hoping, no matter how long the odds.
Right now, we're at the point in the process where we're actually believing we might pull it off....
