Wind storms direction

We have been getting some very strong wind storms in the last few years in our home located in Battle Ground, WA 98604. One of the factors that is affecting our particular area is that there has been many acres of logging in our surrounding area so last two years we had many trees fall down around our house. I have been reading trying to understand the direction of these storms to prepare and take down trees that are at risk of falling on our home. Can you help me understand this topic or direct me to a source that explains this at a basic level.
