  1. Thank you so much. I try to stay quiet and just absorb everything I can learn here. You folks are amazing.
  2. It would be unusual for one to last this long without ERC wouldn't it? I mean, all the way to landfall?
  3. Can you point me to your source for this? I missed it.....thanks
  4. Would someone be so kind as to explain to me what I'm looking at here? Layman's terms please https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/MESO_band.php?sat=G16&lat=30N&lon=71W&band=10&length=180 I happened across this just yesterday but didn't understand it's significance. Thanks so much
  5. Anyone ever see one fall apart this rapidly? That sure seems to be what we are seeing or is it?
  6. I apologize if this is a dumb question but at what point will other influences, other than those the models have factored, begin to change her course? Is it possible for Irma to fake everyone out and enter the GOM? And one last question, IF that happens, what then?
  7. There is uncontrolled over topping of the spillways at both Addicks and Barker.
  8. I didn't think that was even possible....the flood gates only allow so much water. My understanding was the Army Corp of Engineers had said they would take approx 4,00cfm total at both and now they are saying they are at 16,000? HORY CARP! Something must be very wrong.
  9. You just wish you could put your arms around every one of them and tell them, everything is going to be ok.
  10. Thanks, From what I was reading here and seeing on the various websites I couldn't understand how he was coming to his conclusion. He was suggesting Harvey is going to pick up Northern speed overnight and basically be directly East of Houston in the AM and NE in the evening.
  11. KHOA Meteorologist is telling the viewership Harvey rain will begin leaving the area by tomorrow evening. Any of our experts have an opinion on his forecast?
  12. Actually, downtown is flooding even as we speak from the controlled releases. If these dams fail we don't even want to think of what that will mean.
  13. Both Addicks and Barker dams current release rates are double what the Army Corp of Engineers say they are designed for so I would suspect no additional release rates can be achieved.
  14. Her post makes me sad. I can't imagine how many families are trying to convince their loved ones to get out of the way of this monster and how many of those loved ones are ignoring the warnings. Such a sick feeling..
