It appears likely Cedar Rapids is going to get absolutely nothing tonight as storms pass north and south. Un f'ing believable.
It is hard to believe given how things have looked all night; however, considering (up until tonight) Independence has had the same fate multiple times this year I do believe it. I'm actually amazed we got what we did this evening.

Strong couplet just to east of my parents in Center Point.

2.75 inches of rain today and still raining - more than we've had in the last two months. Luckily avoided severe weather also - Waverly, Oelwein, Manchester and more were not so lucky.

6.5" of fluff here; just shy of biggest storm of the year. 41" on the year; 14" on the ground. Craziness.

About 8" here. Blowing and drifting big time in the country - roads are not good. Definitely biggest storm of the season here.
-
About 3.5" here - snow had decreased in intensity up until about 10 minutes ago, now snowing harder. Wind increasing as well. Roads are awful. Snow day #10 tomorrow . . .

Been snowing here since just before 4pm - mostly moderate snow with some periods of heavy snow. I would estimate 3" or so at this point. If it keeps snowing like this definitely going to be our biggest snowfall of the season (6.5").

Snowing at a very good clip here the last 40 minutes or so . . . 1/2inch or more in that time frame.

There used to be someone named Indeeger or something like that from near Independence IIRC. There's several reports of 10-12" in far southeast MN/and far northeast IA. Snow continues to rip there as well. LSRs there are likely very nice.
That's me. Started snowing here about 5:30pm - looks to be about 4-5 on the ground, but really hard to tell with all the blowing. The really heavy returns are north of here - New Hampton and Decorah are at 8"+ and still going. West of here 20-30 miles, considerably less snow. We might double our yearly total of 6.5", although looks like the back edge is getting close to Waterloo, so we may only have and hour or two of decent snow left.
