March 3-4 storm possibility. Good. I'm off after my prostate biopsy.... yippee! At least the snow blower works as of this afternoon.

Washed my car in a tee shirt yesterday.... hoping for a miss in Rockland. I want big or zip.

Final Call won't get too caught up in models and will only slightly tweak thoughts from earlier today/this has a lot of variability
Suffolk 12-24 (Isolated 24+ possible)
Nassau 10-15 (possibly higher with banding)
Brooklyn/Queens/Staten Island 8-12 (possibly higher with banding)
Bronx/Mahattan 6-10 (possibly higher with banding)
NW of NYC up to 287- 5-8 (possibly higher with banding)
287 to 84- 3-6 (possibly higher with banding)
North of 84 West of Hudson (1-3)- possibly higher with ratios
North of 84 East of Hudson- 3-6
Snow blower's staged. Central Rockland County, just an "inch" above 287. Feel any banding could give us that potential boost beyond 8". Glad it's not my working weekend....

Glad it's not my working weekend. Retirement is looking better every week. Bring on the Bombogenisis; slant

What line of work are you in?
I'm in high tech semiconductor manufacturing (an "essential" job) but I'm not making the 42 mile drive to for expensive machines. I suspect he's got an important one that involves human beings. Kudos, if so.

Just talked to my parents in Sussex County (Hampton Twp). Snowing, lightly, since ~1:00 and about an inch accum. Nothing yet here in Spring Valley, Rockland Cty.

Spring Valley, NY, 500'
21.4F
DPT 10.4
RH 63%
Nada snow but it's looking promising...

I do 12 hour shifts in Hopewell Jct., Dutchess County; I live in central Rockland. I'm not going in tomorrow because it should get progressively worse with every hour that goes by. Bear Mountain Bridge hills are no fun in a two wheel drive MINI Cooper after about six inches. I miss my Jeep Wrangler.... lol I'm off 'til Friday I suspect..... for the next storm....

Models keep increasing snow amounts even way up here in POU as well, in the 20 plus range now
I'm supposed to work there in Hopewell Jct tomorrow and Tuesday... definitely not going in tomorrow with a 42 mile commute from Rockland County. Tuesday may be questionable too.... The chip making tools can wait!

OKX has a solid PDF of all the hazards. 9-24" is the range of possibilities.

WABC showing 12-18" just west of Rockland County.... the bull's eye has shifted NW... I'm calling in on Monday as a Rockland to Dutchess County normal commuter. As it looks this moment.

"A potential significant event for some areas - depending on the track" - per WCBS 880 wx this morning before work....

Mid-Rockland County here. Will fire up the snow blower tomorrow and fire up the generator. Hoping for lower than expected winds. Sandy was enough for us - eight days sans power. No fun. A big snowstorm is beautiful to watch but the negative aspects outweigh the beauty. Dump on us, just not the power loss......

Mid Rockland County, NY looking interesting.... Snow blower is ready with only a 14" vertical height. Hmmpf.

I'm in the middle of Rockland County. Looks interesting.

Glad I took this coming week off. Should be interesting.

Lawn was mowed. Good thing the tomatoes and other veggies are in the greenhouse.... Gads. Can't wait until May weather towards the end of NEXT week.

Just had a chuckle... NBC TV met showed 12-18" by Tuesday morning in the Putnam/Dutchess/north areas. I work 12 hr shifts in Hopewell Jct. so it could be an early departure on Sunday if this comes to life. Just mounted the studded snows today.

I slid on black ice on the Palisades northbound at Bear Mt... up on the hill.. It's notorious there. Thermo said 35 and it was icy. I Tweeted Newsradio880 about it.
