Kinda looks like it is having trouble wrapping the deep convection around the eye. Surprised.
-
Tired of all this freakin heat. Ready for fall.

HIGH incoming for Memphis at 1630UTC
-
Charleston floods in a strong summer storm. A 6ft surge would be a huge problem in the Old City.
-
Recon has 935mb in the eye. SFMR saw ~115kt winds coming in through the northern eyewall.
-
Casa Ybel East is now down.
-
This is now a naked swirl with no convection. NHC hasn’t called it yet, but it’s dead.

Not to get too far off here but how would one really implement it? Seems like it would be very tough and extremely costly. I'm sure these huge super computers of the globals already use some sort of AI or advance learning. We're dealing with some insane computations. It's probably something that takes years to really implement with such focused AI.
Machine Learning engineers are plentiful. NOAA just doesn't pay well enough - Google and Meta pay the above-average ones $500k+ a year to figure out how to get your meemaw to click more ads.

Sitting at 33 here in north Atl. Snow accumulates whenever rates are high, then melts when it slows. No road troubles and power is still on.
-
Also mPING is down, lol
-
Just ripped some fat flakes for a few minutes. Went from nothing to a dusting instantly. Hopefully getting more.

33 and rain here. Some strong gusts up in the 45mph range though, so I guess I’m glad we don’t have any ice.

Hurricane as of the 0500 AST advisory: HURRICANE LARRY (noaa.gov)

This is more like it. Gimme a big pretty fish cane over a GOM basher any day.

If you care enough about radar to be on AmWx, you just need to go pay the $10 for RadarScope. Worth every penny.

Pretty swirl, at least.

Couplet appears to be getting weaker, thankfully. Hopefully it lifts soon.

Was just coming to talk about this. CC ball heading towards Midtown ATL.

Meso floater for today: https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/?parms=meso-meso1-02-24-0-100-1&checked=map&colorbar=undefined
Geez, you can already see the shear.

Yeah a “weak tornado” sounding at 8am is not a good sign.
-
Two very distinct rotation couplets in that MS storm. The cell to the west of that one is spinning a broad meso, too.

I’m sorry but That Guy is a complete Moron. In my 7yrs of lurking here I don’t think there’s been but maybe 1 storm he’s even been remotely close on lol I’d rather have my German Shepherd draw a Snow map. As BullCity and others have touched on, did we really expect the fantasy storms/Cold to stay locked in for a week straight? Just relax , I’d bet money it ends up somewhere in the middle by Tomm nights runs
Yeah, some of the Twitter mets people on here hug constantly are rarely right and don't say anything people on here aren't saying. It's model hugging as entertainment instead of actual forecasting.
