Goodnight Tornadojay. Thanks for your posts tonight.. It is nice to have a Met in here to bounce some thoughts off of. The Tombo NYC/PA play by play can get a bit insane sometimes!
Thanks! No problem... glad to be in here... you know your stuff too! If I have trouble sleeping and the Euro is in progress, I'll come back.. otherwise.. good night.

On Vacation for the holidays! So I am GOOD until I get a call How are you?
Hey if you, Radders, Rob and the rest of the guys are going to do model disco in here I'm in
nice.. enjoy your vacation! I'm actually going to go to sleep. I'm so exhausted... don't think I can keep myself awake another hour and a half... but I'll try to hang here for a while tomorrow too.
-
well, as much as I'd love to stay up for the Euro, I don't think my body can handle it, but I'm going to say a little euro prayer before going to sleep.. maybe I'll wake up in the middle of the night and check into it.
Have a good night and enjoy the euro run if you stay up for it.

So do you buy the faster progression of the southern energy that the GFS/NAM are depicting?
hmmmm.. i don't know... that's a tough one. with the trending and the consistant euro.. i'd lean close to euro, but it's really a tough one..
for some reason the chat thing doesn't work for me in the radio web page, even after signing in
-
you listening to the radio show too? I just tuned in
-
Good run for Eastern parts of SNE - Cape Cod gets crushed.
yea... major storm there.
-
It is not terrible, and the low bombs out pretty well.. But you are right, no closed H5.. Also, the GFS is so much faster.. So curious to see what the euro does. e.g. is going to be this fast too?
yea, I just hope it keeps holding serve. amazing the kind of solution it keeps pumping out
-
Yeah, it is slipping out to the east a little... Not sure what to make of that... I think that the trough is still a little too broad..
yea. the euro is nice and tight and close off.. it's a bit too open.. if it closed off, the surface reflection would be further west
-
too bad it doesn't close off at 500 mb.. that would help out a lot
-
ooh boy.. gotta curve inward.. it's slipping off a bit
-
At 63, the southern energy has been absorbed into the Northern Stream and the trough is now starting to dig as the northern energy streams down.. Amazing PNA ridge again here!
yea, check out the orientation of the height lines along the east coast now.. I think this baby may come up close the coast this time.
-
it phased very well and a bit earlier I think. I think it looks very good so far
-
yep, the GFS southern energy is moving quite quickly here.. It is definitely ahead of the euro at this time.. Hour 51 shows the vort exiting TX. The northern stream coming down the back side of the trough looks like it is further back, as the ridge is more pronounced..
it looks like the energies are gonna phase well on this one, right? at 18Z, the pieces were still distinct and apart... they seem to be coming together now
-
at 51, it looks like the problem has kind of corrected itself out.. at least comparing it to 18Z
-
at 45, the northern stream is a bit concerning to me.. it doesn't look oriented to dig quite like it looked at 18z, but let's wait and see what it does.
-
i think the boards may crash lol.. it's getting slow.. i'm sure we'll be breaking attendance records again this evening.
-
at 39, the shortwave over texas is a bit northeast of 18z, the northern stream looks fairly similar at this point
-
Out to 18 on the GFS.. I am comparing to the 12Z Euro since that is our favorable baseline! No major changes vs. the Euro at 30 thus far
cool.. maybe I'll compare to the last run of the GFS and see where any differences start happening.
-
well.. here we go with the GFS. hopefully more folks will come in here.. everybody's probably in tombo's thread or the main one... so crowded in there sometimes
-
No, it doesn't have that either.
I think accuweather may have those charts now though.
ahh ok.. i subscribed for a whopping 1 day and cancelled and went to storm vista right after. I thought accu would come out quick, but it didn't
-
I figured I would stop and say hello to my fellow Huson Valley neighbors.I am probably way north of you guys, and for this storm, but hello anyway and good luck!!!
hey! how's it going. hope you get in on some of the snow too.
