Same here. Do we think the heavier returns just to the west will flip it back or is it over?
Based on this winter, I will predict we waste the heavy precip as non-snow

Towson- heard the first pingers and then in less than a minute it's almost all sleet

Straight freezing rain on top of the sleet coating in Towson
Jacking the heat up, charging all the devices and making an extra pot of coffee, just in case the power goes out

Getting NAM’ed sure ain’t what it used to be

Cold mist in Towson. Ran errands and didn’t need to use the windshield wipers

Pouring fatties in Towson. Might be the heaviest I’ve seen in a couple years. Hopefully we can end this Baltimore drought

I feel somewhat more optimistic given that the cold high in Iowa is fading while the parent high, a monster 1062 mb center up in the NWT, is slowly pushing south. That should stop the southward push on the wave train and when I look at the RGEM output the precip shield looks realistic but the thickness and thermal profiles look unrealistic (too far north) which would argue for more of the depicted precip to fall as snow. Hence an early call of 4-7" for the I-95, max could be a bit south of the DC-BWI-ILG corridor at 5-9" but I don't think it would be pushed as far south as RIC.
Weren’t you calling for 12 or 18” last weekend?

WBAL uses the RPM and FWIW, it seems to give us a nice deform band late Monday into Tuesday.

That's pretty crazy. Were they night games? I think the fact that this is a pure night game, and is still going to be in the 60s makes it even more crazy! I personally think these conditions are shaping up nicely for Lamar. 60s and I don't think the winds will be all that bad. Maybe just slightly strong breezes.
They were both 4:30 kickoffs. I was at the 04 game - 100-year-old Gary Anderson made a 46-yard FG with 30 second left to lift the Titans to a 20-17 win. I swear it ticked off the crossbar as it went in. If it had been a degree colder, he never would have been able to kick it that far. It got a little chillier as the game went on but never got below mid-50s.

Yeah the last 24-48 hours of runs have been trying to keep things drier...I think I've tracked this storm more than any other rainstorm before, lol
Rain looking less and less likely until after the game ends Saturday. Any thoughts on wind? I don't think it will be that strong but am a little worried. Lamar definitely plays better in good weather. Unlike Flacco who was as impervious to cold and wind as he was to every other external stimulus.
Here's a crazy fact I've uncovered: this will be the third time the Ravens have hosted a playoff game with kickoff temps in the 60s. 1/3/04 and 1/13/07 - both kickoff temp of 63, both Saturday games, both losses. What are the odds that of the 7 home playoff games the Ravens have ever had, 3 of them have been January days with mid-60s temps?

So I'm driving out of North Baltimore tomorrow morning to Boston. Need to be there by 3:30 p.m., preferably earlier. It usually takes about 6.5 hours, so I was thinking I'd just hit the road at 6 a.m., so that the sun's almost up, and I'd deal with any snow that I hit before it dissipates somewhere in New Jersey. Think that's still a viable plan? Kind of starting to wonder if I should wait until 8 or 9, and let the snow end before setting out. I have all-wheel drive.

37 in Towson, with one sad flake falling every minute or two amidst the light rain

Funny....the coldest air I have ever experienced was in VT. 12 hours before the blizzard of 96 I was leaving Killington trying to beat the snow home. Bank clock in Rutland read -29. Once I hit Reading PA is was a serious white knuckler all the way to FDK.I lived in Vermont for 7 years. Locals considered it a cold morning if the inside of your nose immediately froze when you went outside, which kicked in at around -15. That is a sensation you’ll never forget after you feel it once
