That NAM run is a worst case scenario for the city NW up to I-84 with dangerous icing. Let’s hope it is just too amped.
Worst case scenario? Come on with this talk. Just be careful etc. find a safe spot.

Don't think it will make much difference in NE extent of snowfall - those S and E of mason dixon line will do well

shocked but not surprised... handful of people on the slopes today.
Chatting it up with the bar tenders. WOW is all I can say about it.

Maybe it’s my imagination but it seems like the crappy patterns last a lot longer than the great patterns.
7-10 weeks left before spring.

Will depend if this area across NNJ lifts north or not as many models indicate but right now it seems to want to set up close to NYC and dewpoints are way lower than forecast 24 hours ago. It’s possible Central Park might dodge the December shutout albeit with like 0.1 or 0.2
I am not expecting much in my area. I was at mountain creek this morning. Hearing worst season start in 20 years.
It’s bad at the mountain. Recent rain was brutal. Inch or 2 will change the scenery, but more rain is called next week. Lol

Local point & click is calling 1-3 inches in Sussex County.

It shifted east a little with the WCB axis, which seems consistent with the current WV loop. It's already an historic storm on the greater meteorological stage in terms of record-breaking PWATs, wind anomalies at multiple pressure levels, etc. I just wouldn't assume that translates to biblical weather in everybody's backyard. The difference between 2.5" and 4" of rain is almost imperceptible anyway, especially if much or most of it falls at night.
Gfs show near 1.5 at my house.
