  1. With seemingly hours and hours more to go, according to radar. I have a feeling once airborne photography is able to launch after the bands pass, we are going to see devastating, Harvey-eque images. That radar has looks essentially the same for days.
  2. Looks like a radar-indicated tornado over Jacksonville right now - TW in effect
  3. The space between Wilmington and Jacksonville looks like it's going to get crushed for many, many hours. I can't believe weather enthusiasts are calling this storm a bust when it's actively flooding the crap out of SE costal NC. I get that there are not Andrew-esque photos of obliterated mobile home parks due to Cat 4 winds or toppled oceanfront homes due to insane surge, but there is no doubt this is going to be a horrible flooding event for a lot of people.
  4. I would hate to be between Wilmington and Jacksonville right now - holy crap!
  5. I work in emergency management and I agree that things got a little out of hand, but considering a number of rain bands haven't budged for many, many hours I'm going to reserve judgement on severity. Credible sources are saying over 20" have fallen in some places along the shore - that's not a joke in my book. Certainly not the state-wide impact that was feared, but quite possibly devastating for a lot of folks.
  6. I'm not saying that things weren't blown out of proportion to an extent, but isn't Browns Summit, NC over 200 miles from the coast?
