okay, so I am from Chicago, just relocated to Fort Worth last October......
I am so not looking forward to this. (I should be used to it, though, right?)
Right now, IMBY, sun is out, 33 degrees.
-
33 degrees here, and a real fine sorta snowy drizzle falling at the moment. Wet sidewalks, and streets. No real accumulation. Probably 1" total.

The 12z GFS through 345 hours is just meh.
-
Storms were kind of impressive last night. Much stronger than I anticipated. We picked up 1.5" of rain, and some basement seepage last night. Hoping for better today.
-
Looks more rain than snow right now, Dusting on the grass, that's it so far. Rates are light at the moment.
-
All snow now, here in LaGrange.....
-
Snow/Rain mix here in LaGrange. 38 degrees.
-
Raining here. Currently 39 degrees. 12 miles west of Downtown Chicago

Last storm I had to endure with a power outage. Com Ed was replacing a pole at the end of my block. It was planned maintenance. Despite the inclement weather, they replaced it anyway. 10 hours, no electricity. I am hoping the snow for Saturday is being overdone, but I have a feeling it's not.
-
I have been watching this one for the last couple of days. Looks to be a rainer for NE IL and etc, but, given it's apparent strength, worth keeping an eye on.
-
Overall, beyond the potential being discussed here, it looks pretty active through the end of the month.
-
GFS has been showing something in this time frame for a few days now, so we will see how it pans out.

I will take all snow, can't do another "rain to snow"..... the cold that settles in afterward is going to freeze everything solid again. No thanks. the last one was bad enough
-
Still no snow here. Kind of surprised, thought it would be snowing by now.

College of DuPage, and Technical Center of DuPage closed tomorrow.

38 west of DeKalb had a four car accident that I'm sure closed the road. I haven't heard of any further closing.
Thanks. Just wanted to confirm.
-
slushy mess on the roads and sidewalks, and the grass is covered without an inch or so I think. Hearing reports of IDOT pulling plows off the roads until conditions improve. Also hearing Route 38 is closed west of DeKalb (confirmation?). Some schools in my area closing also.

temps are falling now, wind seems to be wanting to back around the NW.

Not far from me.... I will have to check outside.

Can't get the temp below 39.....fluctuating between 39 and 40 or 41.

Looking out the window, it would appear that some slight mixing may be happening.....not sure, I need to go outside and check

It looks like Omaha gets a decent dump. I’ll follow this thread here because it’s got the best info. Locally they are talking 11”-13” here in far E Nebraska.
