I read somewhere that a lot of local weathermen are about to get their walking papers as TV affiliates go to outsourcing local weather to TWC.

Just finished watching SEM vs Blair on YT. SEM's 215 pounder is ranked #1 nationally and just scored a forfeit last second after Blair conceded. Kid then went to the announce booth to proclaim that is the first time Blair has ever lost at home. Crazy stuff.

Just got home from Alexandria. Heavy snow the whole way. I'm eyeballing about four inches so far and still coming down.

The lack of participation is insane. Mount Union was just up here on Tuesday. Mount Union doesn't half-ass their sports. From the entry-level on up they are working based off of how varsity is working and they never have issues with numbers. They sent seven kids to wrestle. And it's not just wrestling that's an issue as their JH football team was almost non-existent this past year. That's the kinda shit I expect from small D6/9 schools like West Branch, Tussey Mountain, Glendale, where nobody lives and the kids who live there would rather do anything else, but I didn't expect that from Mount Union. If I go to Redbank Valley next month and experience the same, I'll sound a full-blown alarm on youth sports participation.

Snow has stopped for now. I need it to be done for the evening as wrasslin takes me to Alexandria tonight and Juniata Valley. Not really looking to pirouette down Sandy Ridge mountain just to watch a bunch of forfeits being awarded.
