No warnings... Is the cap still in place? I'm an amateur... Not not savvy enough to know how to see it.

Well... I'm just stick about today. So many people affected by strong tornados... I'm truly concerned about our fellow men and women affected by today's weather...

A quick glance shows the 1989 one killed 21 people and affirms my belief that an EF-4 hitting Huntsville would be “catastrophic.” Also don’t necessarily believe that something that hasn’t happened for over a quarter century and hopefully won’t for at least another quarter century is “just part of living in [any] area.”
You're misunderstanding my point... I'm not writing it off. Quite the contrary... I'm saying that it is pretty normal for this area to have high amounts of tornados this time of year, many of them are very strong. It's become the new tornado alley. I'm simply saying, I'll be more surprised if we didn't have any tornados.

Sorry, I should have specified what I meant by “a tornado.” I’m not talking about garden variety EF-1’s, I mean something like an EF-4. I’m happy for you that the severity and paths of the tornadoes you get every year haven’t been catastrophic, and I hope we’ll still be able to say the same tomorrow.
We have had several of those as well, both through town and the suburbs. We're not new to strong tornados around this area. I'm just hoping that we don't have any today... Or ever really.. but it's just part of living in this area...

Huntsville metro has half a million people. Granted that’s a bit smaller than Birmingham and a lot smaller than Nashville, but comparable to Jackson, MS, and I think the general consensus (with which I agree) was that it was lucky that a “population center” like the Jackson area dodged a bullet last week. A tornado in or around Huntsville would be catastrophic.
I live in huntsville. We get tornados through here every year. This is just part of living in this area. They usually follow pretty similar paths through the valley as well.

Will the birmingham storms cool the air enough to keep these severe storms from northern part of the state?

Who's saying this is another 2011? I haven't seen or heard of anyone notable making that connection.
Seems like the is exactly what adair is saying... I haven't seen this since then.. that would imply that this is another 2011.

All these hype clowns keep throwing out 2011, 2011, 2011, 2011... The more you use it, the less weight it will carry. Then, people get tired of it or ignore it. Then, it comes across as fear mongering or hype. Where way, it is ridiculous. Just give the facts and keep the hype away... Some people have a genuine fear of weather and these types of reports don't help.

Probably 3.5 here in Owens cross roads, AL. It's really heavy snow... Limbs are struggling.
