Noticed that many of the precip maps have us on the higher side of numbers today but I think warmth is our problem. We have been running 3-5 degrees warmer than DC/west all day. Unless it's cold enough during the event that the difference doesn't matter...

Is it bad that I don't care much? My current job is in Arlington so as long as they get enough there I don't have to make the commute for a day or two, I am happy with one or two inches of slop that clears up quickly. Mentally I am already thinking spring planting like someone else mentioned. Yes, you can tar and feather me now.
Though I am technically only about 2 miles away from the watch line so we'll see if that means anything.

What's going on? I had mentally checked off winter as over. Perhaps it was too soon?
-
Everything looks pretty and peaceful but the roads are fine in northern Calvert. Good kind of snow for the Monday morning commute.
-
My official total here was a bit less than 4". It was enough for the kids to play in and use the excuse for a snow day so we were happy. Congrats to the other side of the bay for picking up awesome numbers!

Just a dusting so far but it's so cold it's sticking to everything. Looks really pretty and peaceful which is why I love snow on weekend mornings, longer before it gets disturbed.
-
This is what we got. Only on the deck and roofs, nothing on grass or pavement. My kids are so snowed deprived they insisted in playing in it anyway.

I am basically watching models creeping north in the creepiest way possible. Yes, come to me. You can do it!
-
Hoping the line is north of us so we see some decent action. We seem to be on the fringe here in Ches Beach.
-
A few flurries right now in Dunkirk. Saw some late morning in Chesapeake Beach. I was way too excited for how few there are.
-
We seemed to be spared a bit, huge breaks in the rain action each day. Our water levels were high but not any higher than the norm for a few days in a row of storminess. I was pretty impressed by some of the thunder though.

I am loving how cool it is this morning. A bit blustery (our gusts are about 20 right now) but so nice after the ridiculous heat this summer.

On a side note, for all the Southern MD people- I just found out LWX is having a Winter Skywarn class on 11/7 in Leonardtown- I will most likely be attending this one.
There's also a Convection class on 10/3 in La Plata but I won't be attending that one.
Thanks for sharing! I think I will try to hit up one of them also.

For some reason my quote function doesn't want to work but I live in Ches Beach. If it ends up a sandy-esque storm NB/CB got very insulated as an inlet and barely saw anything- all the action was up in Annapolis or down by St Leonard's and points south. Regular storms though you will get a decent view on the NB boardwalk or on Brownies beach in CB.

Let's bump this thread up, this weekend's storm could be fun for us.

Ha- right? Our forecast today didn't have snow anywhere and the freeze warning wasn't until 2am. I love these sorts of surprises. I had a feeling we may see something because our temps were so far below forecast all morning and we've had plenty of moisture.
-
Insanely heavy snow. Sidewalks are starting to cave now. I'm at about 0.5" so far. Looks like we jackpot again! I love this winter!
Me too! This winter has been great!
-
Big fat gorgeous flakes in Ches Beach. Amazing for so late in the season!
-
Approaching 0.5 inch in Ches Beach. Pretty impressed by that because it didn't start snowing here for over an hour after prince Frederick did.
I will be shocked if we have school tomorrow. The southern end of the county looks to be the jackpot.
-
I admit I had not been paying attention to models lately. I was sucked in by the warm weather and false sense of spring. Paying attention now!
-
Fwiw- our current weather warning is 6-10 inches of snow and 1/10 in of ice. And it's saying the changeover to plain rain isn't going to happen until after midnight. Quite a change from even a few hours ago.
It's possible. Our temps have been lower than forecast so far for the entire event. Holding at 24 right now.
-
About 6", still falling. Sometimes it's really great to get surprise snow! I really was only expecting an inch.
-
I am measuring 17" inches this morning but we have a few drifts that are over 2' in our yard.
-
I measured an average of 10 inches from various places in the yard at 8am. So much drifting. Last nights sleet and wind was so bad at 1:30am that both kids woke up screaming monsters were attacking their walls ;-)

Fun snow coating this morning in Ches beach. Surprise snow is always the best :-)
