Best of luck. Not happening.
Not going to be 90 during that timeframe either.

32 years ago today
Those were the best days of the weather channel back then and one of the best snow storms of my life. Will never forget the great memories we made during the blizzard of 93. What a storm that was around here!

Who on earth would want a cold April
Try working out in the heat landscaping and doing firewood in the heat and humidity year round and see how much you like it. If you did you might feel a little different about it.

I'm going with 0.5 from this mornings snowfall that raked the southern half of Rutherford county that I measured before any melting. Just thankful to see some snow fall this year as we were going for four years in a row without nothing. Seasonal total at a even 2.0 right now. It could be so much better with all the cold we have had in place but could of been way worse. I definitely don't like it but I'll take it!

A half inch already! Wow. We have a solid dusting -- on everything because the ground is so cold. At least it's measurable and continues to fall.
Yes. It's been snowing here since a little bit before 7am this morning. Just catching this heavy band just perfect.

Pushing a half inch here and snowing steady. Just cold enough for all snow. The upper level low saved us here.

Snowing here. Laying on the porch. It’s official. lol
.Same here. Starting to stick. Maybe we keep this up on and off all night and get lucky under the upper level low tomorrow morning under a heavier band.

All I know is there's very few storms where we get more snow then SW NC. Usually only if it's strong CAD but this is not really that. I have seen Jan 2016 as an analog that would make a lot of people happy in the mountains.
I know we are far removed from these times but Marion used to kick butt in the snowfall department in the 80s and 90s. It was like they were apart of the high mountains. I know it has not been like that the last decade or so.

Took a break from here and doesn't look like I missed much other than a day of hope that was quickly washed away. Winter is over folks. Other than the late frost and freezes we will see in March/April. We blew it this year.
I agree. We blew it big time with all the cold we had. Nothing new. Just another winter here in the foothills.

Cold March is good for nothing. It’s not the 1960s. A cold rain and seasonal depression.
Warm February is good for nothing in Winter. You should know by now what a warm February is going to bring you in March and April and sometimes May.

Has to be an early spring or it will be — or feel like — the coldest winter of all time
I knew it wouldn't be long until you brought up spring again.

We just got some snow pellets over the last 5 minutes since ~12:50AM! First frozen precip here in 7 years. These were shaped like sleet but were softer and white. Temp 35.4F. Our modeled 850s are a bit colder, near -1C. I’m easily excited!
That's awesome my friend. Happy for you. Enjoy it!

This is one of the few times I'm glad I'm just 11 miles north of the SC border. Keep on trending NW baby!

Storm total around 1.5 just southwest of Forest City. Wish we could of stayed Snow longer but was expecting the warm nose. Hoping for a big dog in the next few weeks for us all. On to the next one hopefully.

Trying to turn to all snow again after the last hour of the tiniest flakes and sleet. Still accumulating on everything. Roads will be worse tomorrow with all these layers packed down and frozen overnight. Snow on sleet on freezing rain now going back to snow. It does remind me of the 80s and 90s storms that we used to get so often back then. I take it as a huge win compared to the last 3 winters for us in the foothills.

Same here. Light sleet mixed in with mosty freezing rain since a little bit before 5pm. Trying to go back to mostly sleet now. Hopefully we change back over to snow later this evening. You just gotta love the warm nose around here. She never lets us down time and time again. Still sitting on a inch getting compacted now.

Trying to get big right now
.Same here in Danieltown just south of you. Heaviest and biggest flakes of the day so far. Looks like we are getting ready to get going good now with heavier rates. Just about to pass the 1 inch mark here in SW Rutherford county.

Folks, the new 0Z GEFS actually looks nice as early as Dec 30th and is the best looking that early in at least 4 days of runs. Progression is really good to see.
And the 0Z EPS is a real beaut!
I sure hope so. Been waiting a long time for a shot a winter weather. Hope it comes to fruition. Always enjoy reading your posts. Merry Christmas.

McDowell is a war zone. Trying to access my property but I can't even get there.
Same in Rutherford county. Will take a long long time to recover. Helene is the benchmark now and unfortunately puts Hugo to shame around here. Prayers for everyone and prayers for you and your family.

I want it and what's wrong with that. You like what you like.
