A group of our friends just booked a ski-in, ski-out place for our five families near the top of Wisp for December 27-30. First time out there. Hoping for at least a little snowpack at the house to amp up the Holiday feel while we're there!

Man, we’ve been going with a group of 4 families for the last 6 years for new years and if I remember correctly we’ve had exactly 1 winter where we had a ton of snow on the ground. In fact the last 2 we were able to do polar bear plunge in the lake with temps in the 50s-60… it wasn’t that bad either lol. We switched it up this year to masanutten so you’re probably golden haha.

  2. Interesting to see the doom and gloom posts about the Os. It’s playoff baseball, everything is magnified. This team though hasn’t lost more than 4 games in a row all year. Haven’t been swept in an absurd amount of series. They know how to win. They play sound baseball 99% of the time. The team is not an offensive juggernaut, they are a team that does all things very well, consistently. Usually consistency wins out, especially in baseball. Even if they lose the series this team is built to last for years barring injuries. Have fun with the ride.

I think they got a chance...1 seeds can get bounced early sometimes...And Hurts hasn't played in the playoffs before...I think the Giants have some momentum.

Hurts started in the playoffs last year and lost to the Bucs. Giants are a scrappy team but the Philly defense is a million times better than Minnesota and Jones had his two best QB games against the Vikings who are like 31 in D this year. I think it’s gonna be a tight game because they are division rivals but even with Hurts not 100% I’d be very surprised if the Giants won.

Downright lazy and terrible. I feel for Taylor’s family

Maybe a bit of jumping the gun on my part. His daughter and rest of the family loved it. Hard to not go right to the negative when talking about the business/owner side of things with Washington but might just be wrong here.

Is bunting banned in MLB these days? I'm a Phillies fan when local teams stink and couldn't believe they didn't tell the #9 hitter to bunt with 1st and 3rd, one out. The game was lost on the difference in fielding (Houston made their plays, Philly had some bobbles and errors).

No but bunting is pretty much old baseball. They worry about launch angle and home runs now. Small ball is gone. I hate the shift and love that mlb is doing away with it but ffs when Chris Davis was up with nobody out and the third baseman is playing shallow right field any pro player should have been able to bunt for a base hit down the line. Home runs are overtly coveted now. I love bunting, hit and runs, small baseball and great defense will win over the launch angle saber metric stuff all day In my opinion.

Can we combine Wentz's arm strength with Heinicke's escapabililty ,savvy and will to win.

Well duh lol just kidding. yes but easier said than done obviously. You cannot deny heinicke and his will which we fans should love and want to see more of. Real shame he wasn’t touched by god with the arm strength of wentz.

    Hail Heinicke!

His talent is so subpar but he does just enough to keep them in it. That throw at the end should have been a td if he had the arm strength but somehow he still completed it. Better to be lucky than good I guess.

The team definitely plays more fired up when he's in there but you are right he doesn't have NFL quaility arm strength  and it showed on the pic he threw.

He's a gamer though and definitely gives them the best chance to win.

There were plays he made alluding the rush that would of been sacks or worse for Wentz.

Totally agree. I’m a bigger believer in talent but sometimes you can’t overlook heart and a desire to win which he definitely has. The Offensive coordinator needs to scheme plays better that fit his strengths. If the D continues how they have played we will be in games and have a chance. Problem is we probably get 7-8 wins with heinicke and are still stuck in the mediocrity while looking for a QB again…

    LOL GB.

    Heinicke!

That dude definitely plays his butt off but the physical limitations are very evident. The arm strength is just not there but he pulls out games and the team responds to him. Here comes 7 wins and continued mediocrity lol

    Wentz is such an idiot.

Gotta throw the ball away and live for the next play.

Getting close to Heineke time in my opinion.

Heinicke is not coming close to making the throw wentz just did lol.

I'm happy but my guess is Sam Howell/ Heineke is in there at some point. Wentz makes way to many bone headed decisions.

I'll give him credit though. Wentz made a couple big throws in thr 4th quarter today.

If Wentz isn’t in there Washington loses that game. Did he make 2 bad decisions yep, and did he over throw a few gimme passes yes, but Neither Heineke or Howell are making the throws he did to win it at the end. And Dotson making that grab is awesome, besides McLaurin we have nobody that can make catches like that. I’m not some big Wents apologist or fan but I don’t get the hate thrown his way. Is he Mahomes or Herbert or Rodgers no but he can be a top 12-15 qb. Washington fans should be more mad at the play calling today. The amount of screens in the middle of the game were ridiculous and easily read by the Jax defense.

The Os really are on quite a nice little run. Amazing to see them be this competent with the core of the prospects just now pushing to get a call-up.

Felt like it all started to turn when Ruetschman was called up. Aside from being really good with the bat, just feels like he commands the field from behind the dish like you want a catcher to do.

They are playing really well. I’m a firm believer in building bottom up and they have done a great job of drafting and development which they did not do for years. They have the chance to build a team that can last for years and it’s fun to watch.

I'm telling ya, the Cowboys...I think they just invented yet another way to lose in the playoffs! Like how dude? Lol This is one of the few times I actually feel a tad sorry for their fans...Cowboys had all the "moments" ya think lead to a win...and then the Cowboys happen, lol

As an unfortunate WFT fan, I was talking with the wife while watching that game and said how I think I actually like watching the cowboys lose more than watching a WFT win lol. Especially when they seemingly go 12-5, 11-5, 13-3 only to lose in the first round lol so satisfying!

A tale of two periods in the Caps game so far.  Love Hathaway’s fight though.

That was a nasty goal by Kuzie!! Crazy angle! Good win. Still mad about giving up Forsberg for Erat though lol.

  16. Does anyone have a a good recommendation for a personal weather station from actual use? I had an old one that a tree branch just fell and broke. It used a radio transmitter to send to a pad that I could download to the computer. Way old school for the ones I just looked at now. I’m not too sure if the WiFi ones would work here since I’m on DSL and signal/speeds are terrible. Thanks for any insight. I don’t need super fancy.
