At approximately 2:20 pm, this date, small funnel cloud crossed the area of James Baird State Park in Dutchess County.  This is the township of Lagrange which encompasses the Taconic State Parkway.  Initially the front was accompanied by heavy rain and sporadic cloud to ground lightning which eventually became a very light green cloud cover, heavy rain, minimal pea size hail and gusty winds...the funnel cloud remained several hundred feet above the tree tops.

Last three updates on the Albany NWS Winter Page has reflected the following decline for projected ice accumulation in Poughkeepsie... / .24, .17, and now .12

WWA for Dutchess and Ulster Counties...NWS Albany indicating possible 4-6 along I84 in southern Dutchess / Ulster.  Morning discussion had Poughkeepsie at 4 inches...afternoon discussion 5 inches.  Seems high but ratio of 13:1 or slightly higher is mentioned.

Poughkeepsie 9:25pm...currently 27 with flurries.  Approximately 1pm initially snowfall began moderately for a short time. Thereafter light snow / flurries periodically until this writing.  Approximately 2 inches.

Snowing for the past few hours in Poughkeepsie...32 degrees...all grass surfaces are covered.

Dutchess County area up to 21,700 without power.

Local NWS predicted a trace to maybe an inch on mostly non paved surfaces.  Pretty much right on here in Poughkeepsie.

….and maybe I'm trying to squeeze into the Metro forum because there's really not a lot of interest in the Mid Hudson Valley...I mean where is there a forum for the valley from Croton to Hudson. I chase snow, I chase storms, I live it, and I really dig it.  Thanks for the feed back.

This is true, if I could I would say the Mid Hudson Bridge is the cut off that would be close to perfect.  (Hyde Park is just a few miles north of the bridge)  The difference between Poughkeepsie and say Kingston is huge...Poughkeepsie is more in the Upton envelope, prediction wise, where as Kingston is definitely Albany...it's only 30 miles but man it's a world of difference.

I would say anything north of Dutchess and Ulster Counties is out of the Metro Forum.  

Dutchess County and specifically Poughkeepsie is part of the Metro Forum.  Although I am new to this forum,  I have posted on other boards that include the Metro area.  Never an issue. Although included in the most extreme southern part of KALB, it is WABC, WNBC, WCBS, and so on that covers this area...not upstate nor western NY.

And so it begins in Poughkeepsie...29, flurries quickly transitioning to light snow.
