  1. I hate to say it, but I do think that snow a decreasing possibility in VA. As an avid snow chaser, finding an event that feels like it will produce within the state lines has become much more challenging in the past 5 years. I’m still on the fence about Saturday’s storm, looking at the Luray and Front Royal area. It’s a haul from Tidewater, and with the temps being so marginal it’s a a complete roll of the dice. 5-10 years back, you could always count on climo. Not so much these days. Sad.

  2. Lots of uncertainty today. From my perspective, living in SEVA trying to decide if I should pull the trigger on a cabin in the Luray area for a chase. Happy for the something to track within the state this year, but not excited about a sloppy solution or bust driving all that way. Would love the input from the seasoned vets and Mets on this area.

Edited to add: willing to wait until 12z tomorrow to make a decision.

I just mean with SE VA getting slammed and we have to watch from here like window shopping

I can only hope. Usually that’s me with 33° rain watching the entire rest of VA get snow. May be finally one I won’t have to travel for, but there’s still plenty of time to be heartbroken.

Love it! I leave lights on top of my kitchen cabinets, and along the stairwell banister. Cozy and cheery!

Thanks! I also keep the old school ceramic C9 lights on my stairwell too. I love having the lights up thru the many shite 34° rain days in my neck of the woods….when I’m not chasing ❄️ up in the NW parts of VA.

But once in a blue moon, we get lucky.

I know. My wife pisses me off about that. I put everything up the weekend before Thanksgiving. She takes everything down the weekend after New Years. I would leave my Christmas stuff up year long if she would allow it.

My husband is the same way. We switch to winter right after NY’s. It’s too depressing to take the lights down. We switch the tree to all blue, white, and silver. Stays up thru March!

If this thing ends up hitting, my criteria for trying to get out of this work trip next week is 10+.   Anybody have a good excuse I could come up with?  You know, just in case.

I threw my back out, I caught a stomach bug, my 3rd cousin died, or the dog ate my homework should do the trick.

  7. No icing on trees that i can see, but deck is still coated with ice and picnic table has a nice coating here in Stanardsville.

I will take whatever I can get after over 2 years since last measurable snowfall in SEVA/ORF
