  1. Well i can't complain about winter too much. We had some good rides around home here in WNY, for the first time in several seasons. Then the last day of February I finally got my 2022 Polaris Snow Check. Then a week later I found myself in the U.P. first timer for the U.P. we stayed in Newberry, had a blast! Put on just under 700 miles. Would have been more but we lost a day due to a break down. You guys have have some nice riding up in the U.P. can't wait to go back and try riding the western part of the U.P.

Yeah if we get a dusting in WNY we’ll be lucky

Good. I want all the snow I can get. But 45+ for days before the chance of snow and 50s after what's the point? At this point, I just hope muddy paw season is a short one... I am going to  enjoy my remaining time snowmobiling the U.P. then when I get home it's time to switch gears to mountain bikes and dirt bikes. Until next winter, stay safe and have a good one boys!

Looking real good for us here in the Hudson Valley finally. Although five days out still eh.

Didn't go snowmobiling this weekend even though trails were somewhat rideable up there, gonna try the weekend of the 4th hopefully it's good.

Fingers crossed we all benefit from this storm.

Might have to take the sled out for a quick spin if we get a foot Friday emoji4.pngemoji57.png

  4. Starting to feel like what is the  point.  After all the flooding and the additional  high 40s to 50s for several days. I mean I love my winter weather, but if I can't use it...it becomes a slap in the face. Sorry to vent. Just very sick and tired of record warmth melting away everything then maybe go cold again for a few days and pick up more snow just to melt again. Exactly the reason why I didn't want us to leave our cold and drier pattern (not that me or anyone else gets a say! LoL), I will take my chances with cold getting snow vs. this set up any day. Ok rant over, weenie on!

This will really tell you how much of a nerd I am when it comes to winter weather and snowmobiling but I’ve kept a journal going back to the 1995-1996 winter, yes 27 years, that lists each snowmobile trip I did, where it was, how much snow was on the ground, who I rode with and how many miles we rode along with a little short description of the trip itself. I also give a summary at the end of each season like what sled we had at the time, total miles rode that season and if it was a good season or bad. I know very nerdy but it’s neat to look back at it and the memories it brings back up. I will say the last “great “ season according to my journal was 2007-2008. Since then 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2016-2017 were good seasons, the remaining I considered bad.

From a NY snowmobiler and overall winter weather nerd I think that is totally awesome about your record keeping. Winters have been overall  crap in NY for quiet some time. Even places like Tug Hill and Old Forge have struggled in recent years.

GFS and Euro remain stubborn. Rain…slowly running out of time.

Hate to say it, but we are already out of time.  To me once we lost our cold winter is over. With everything being water logged and mud now, to me a snow storm would be salt in the wound. I do hope we have some cold and snow on the ground for Maple Weekend...It just hurts when winter leaves as quickly as it came.

First time snowmobiling today, might be hooked. Did about 100 miles across the southern tier. One more reason to love snow.

That's awesome that you had a good time. Snowmobiling is as expensive as you want to make it, and it comes with a lot of heartbreak because of the weather. But once you are out there enjoying the snow and your machine,  there is nothing else like it.

Sorry Geez! We gotta watch that dry slot and the sleet just east of you. But i think you do look good for a solid foot or so! you might even get into some enhancement on the back.

I'm just hoping we all do good. I'm trying to stay level on this one, but can't help it. Getting amped up. Reminds me I better go get gas for the snow blower! I love snow removal.  On top of my driveway I take care of a few neighbors driveways to help out as they are getting older.
