I don’t understand why some people want a category 5 to hit the city! That would be catastrophic.

Wow South Jersey and Delaware look like bullseye according to GFS 18z and euro. Very epic storm if that were to happen!

Ok guys I’ll shut up sorry

Well you're not New England so where else are you?
Tough question. I’d say in between. But it’s neither.

It's bad for everyone
Relax yourself
No it isn’t it’s bad but not disastrous! It’s disastrous if you’re talking about south jersey and Delaware.

Euro is a disaster for Delaware and south New Jersey not New York City. Our region gets into some swells and some rain but definitely not devastating or something to write about!
Stop giving false information. Jeez! I would think you guys knew how to read a model run by now!

I’m sorry but In no way in hell is New York metro including Long Island part of mid Atlantic. It’s just not! We have a way different climate here. It’s a different region. Simple as that!

Really? I've always seen NY, NJ, PA, DE and MD as the Mid-Atlantic with VA, WV and NC thrown in as well depending on the source.
No way! There’s different climate there!

Long Island is part of the mid-Atlantic. Count how many tidal cycles take place while it lingers off shore - that is what leads to tidal flooding. Misinformation- I don’t think so.
I don’t think Long Island is part of mid Atlantic. I consider philly and south part of mid Atlantic

Probably will see the model cycles waffle 2 more times. Who knows where it ends up. No question OTS is most likely. Overall to me the various ingredients out there don’t add up that’ll be greater than a Cat 1 or 2 when it hits the US if it made it here.
Waters are hot at record levels so beware

06z GFS while a fantasy run would cause massive tidal flooding throughout the mid-Atlantic.
That solution would be a disaster for Long Island and our area and a major disaster for the Cape. mid Atlantic would not get it as bad! Stop putting misinformation. Big snowstorm potential for upstate New York and Vermont if that solution verifies!

You’ve seen heavy snow at 10 degrees numerous times?
So most snowstorms don’t occur when it’s roughly 28-33 degrees? Perhaps I’m off, but it certainly feels that way.
25 was probably too warm though, 22-23 would’ve been more fitting. I’ve never seen snow at anything remotely close to 10 degrees, however.
I’ve seen it before and that’s usually a big storm that temps just keep dropping as the low intensifies with already an arctic air mass in place.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen heavy snow below 25 degrees. I wouldn’t be opposed to it though, cold air holds less moisture, we wouldn’t have to contend with the waterlogged muck that we generally get.
You’re crazy I’ve seen it numerous times. Guess you’re too young. Less playing more reading youngin

This weather is annoying bring on 10 ten degrees with heavy snow

Models showing cooler air coming in after this quick moving heat.

Wish I was old enough to have experienced that. I’ve never experienced thunderstorms at severe-level, I’ve never even seen hail before.
How old are you 5?

Yes I have often said that.
Kind of OT but there was an amazing stat given out this week. More people have drowned due to rip currents this summer than any other weather event. Heat driving peeps to the beach while the ocean has been churned by constant on shore long fetch.
The reason why I asked is the fact that our met office didn’t even post any chance of rain for my area last night and we had the nastiest lightning I’ve probably ever seen in my life. 3 people got hit by lightning and one is in critical conditions down here in New York.
-
I have a question for you guys... do you guys think life threatening lightning should be considered a severe thunderstorm warning?

FWIW, TWC lowered my totals from 8-12 to 5-8. They obviously see something they don't like.
THey should have stuck with their initial call. Weather channel is kinda whack

You’re right let this play out. There is definitely a chance of a hurricane bigger than sandy to hit our area next week. Still too far out to know. If it trends north this will end up Irene track like. That would most likely be a cat 3 hitting New York
