Light snow here for about the last half hour, once in a while it picks up a good bit, at the moment it's lighter. Down here at the kettle fire there's a dusting on some surfaces. The breeze did pick up a bit right before it started snowing - it felt like it was on the doorstep. Good stuff!

Hello neighbor! It sure came down quick between 1 am and 4 am! Over 3 inches now.

Oh ok.  I remember watching the game kinda ticked off because philly was getting all that snow and we got like 2" or something like that.

My cousin was having a baby shower in Shillington that day, which I was planning to attend. Shillington only saw around 2 inches but down my way in Chadds Ford, we saw 7 inches.  Roads were all shutdown from accidents and I couldn't go up  there because there were near whiteout conditions .

Is that the one during the Eagles game?

Nope. This one was in February, when the  Eagles usually don't play. The storm you are thinking about was the December 2013 event, which dropped 8 inches in South Philly. That was during the Eagles game. That came from an overrunning setup, vastly different from a Norlun trough setup.

I actually made it above freezing today, with a high of 33 (when the sun briefly attempted to show through the clouds), a low of 19, and a dp as low as 5 earlier this morning.  I meant to tell RedSky that I "saw him" in the east around sunrise before it clouded over, so I knew something was on its way. :D

It's currently overcast and 30 with dp 19.

The 19z NBM seems to have the max accumulation right along the I-95 corridor.  I suppose a concern might be if a dry slot appears, which I recall happening with past Norlun setups (with one area under a death band and others with zippo).

I remember a Norlun trough in February of 2009 which setup over Philadelphia and Gloucester/Camden Counties. This sucker dropped up to 10 inches in the City of Philadelphia and up to a foot in Gloucester county. South of West Chester, where I live, only saw 4 inches. I think parts of Lancaster County (Manheim Twp.) got 12 inches in another very narrow band (10 miles  wide).

Just measured a fresh inch, 2.9" storm total counting snow from earlier. Rates here have been varying between light and moderate, mostly light. Steady as she goes...

Slightly nerve racking due to the fact that, as modeled, we'll be pretty much on the left edge of the snow shield for the duration. But we are very much enjoying hanging on the porch and seeing it snow. Getting a little breezier bit by bit. Just had a bunch of deer stop by also. Nice Friday night!

    Ditto here in Chadds Ford

Some of Glen Mills does have elevation. Glen Mills School sits at over 400 ft. I'm about a mile away and I'm down around 250 ft. It's pretty hilly around me. Not complaining -- I'll take what I can get! -- but I've always wondered about what process creates that variability in such a close range.

Very light snow at the moment and hanging right at 31F.

Chadds Ford Township is the same exact way.
