You can’t make it up. You really can’t….after JB declared that winter is dead, done, over after the 2nd week of February, he’s now done a complete 180, saying the rest of this month is “fake spring” and that March is going to be very cold and snowy, I’m sure he’ll be saying the March pattern looks like a combo of March, 1993, March, 1888, March, 2015 and March, 2018 soon. Honestly, how can people waste their money to read his BS? It’s nothing but snake oil from a quack. He’s the worst meteorologist I’ve ever seen in my life, a total clown and a fraud, he makes Henry Margusity look like an all-star. He’s honestly a disgrace and embarrassment to the profession and he’s making a complete mockery of it. He’s the reason why the public talks crap about real meteorologists and says they get paid to be wrong and change their tunes as they go

JB stopped being a meteorologist the moment he used his reputation as one to get into energy futures. His forecasts help to drive those markets, and he is heavily invested in them. He's been warning of a March 1993 redux nearly every mid/late February since he founded WB.

Yeah, this looks similar to the January pattern. All 3 (GEPS, GEFS and EPS) show something similar. You can see the trough axis is a bit further west than January and some signs of southern stream action too. Not hard to envision a shortwave diving out of Canada over the ridge and meeting up with something ejecting out of the SW. This upcoming week is more a reshuffle, and we get this look by late next week so it's not some day 15 fantasy, it's already under day 10.

I aim for this month to be the coldest February since 2015, just like January was the coldest since 2014.

If anyone is still model watching for the rest of the night. I think we can throw out the 3K. Not initializing well with the precip that is currently falling. The swath of freezing rain is much larger than the thin line depicted on the model. So im not sure how well you can take it for the amount of snow over night.

Heading to bed shortly. I fully expect to wake up to 6+ inches of fresh, white gold.

Please leave. This is a weather forum for all enthusiasts if you want to participant fine but not this way. Go back to your project and ignore us.

This isn't a "weather forum for all enthusiasts". This is a snow lover's forum.

I don't know what all has been said because i have the perpetrator on ignore, but i so agree with you. Appreciate your thoughts!

I'm the "perpetrator" because I asked whether or not people get this exited every year when the GFS shows snow during the first part of April? That's some geeky mom's basement D&D logic right there. Incidentally now that I'm in the process of Doxing Daxx (that sorta rhymes, doesn't it?), it appears that's exactly what I was dealing with. I'll get back to my fun little project here and let you guys cry and commiserate about how much of a meanie I am and how much my screen name offends you, lol!

Let me try to answer your question honestly.  I absolutely get giddy tracking snow when I see a model showing it. Is it weird, well maybe but who gives a sh!t. I would like to ask you a question.  Do you get giddy posting stupid comments?

It was a valid question. I was only asking it because a lot of you guys are acting like this has never happened before, while (at least in my experience) snow always seems to be modeled during the first part of April. On a personal level however, I now have another question....for you specifically. Do you talk like that in the "real world" to people's faces, or do you reserve your smugness for the internet where it's "safe" (it isn't, by the way)? I have a feeling I already know the answer to that one, but I just wanted to hear it from you.

  8.  Honestly I love tracking storms during the winter (even though I hate snow) and talking about the long range up until about the end of January. It's both exiting and addicting, and it's just so enjoyable to pour over all the data and to read all the different viewpoints on it. This time of the year though, I get so sick of the hype, wishcasting, and foul / snarky attitudes of people on the internet when things don't go their way that I could puke. It's the same thing every February and March: Winter's never gonna end, every Nor'easter that pops up on one model run is gonna be a February 2010 redux, and every piece of energy that picks up moisture out of the Gulf in March is gonna be 1993 again. Then of course they've got JB in their corner to hype cold and snow until a week after I open my pool.
