4 counties in SC have WSWs now.
All magically to the west of I-95, like always! -
A lull for most of the day was expected across central NC. The low doesn't really intensify until later this afternoon toward evening..
Ah. Seems like the local forecast in NE SC kept showing a changeover to freezing weather between 5-8AM.
Oh well, I’m good either way as long as we don’t ge too much freezing rain. -
I may have read the forecasts wrong but I did not expect there to be basically no precipitation across SC and NC at this point…

Once again.. all models are wrong, some are useful.
It is very rare to get a 6+ snowfall here in central NC. In my opinion, the models are trending toward a more climatological solution. A 1-2" event would still be a win for our area.
Really the only thing that changed was the QPF. We will see what the next run brings.
At this point I’m fine with no wintry weather at all compared to all the ice that is being forecasted for NE SC.- 1

Local forecasters starting to chime in here in NE SC, I think I’m starting to resign myself to a weekend of ice
-
Ok I’d rather just have cold rain here in NE SC if my other option is a bunch of freezing rain…

Please God let the GEM be right
Please God let the GEM be right... (No ice)

This would be much preferred to the all ice forecast that NOAA just changed to for NE SC. -
Forecast in NE SC just changed from all snow to all freezing rain…

Here is what I see for SC *as it stands* (subject to change):
I-95 to the coast: rain
I-20/I-77 to I-95: IP/ZR with snow mixed in, turning all rain
I-85 to I-20/I-77: Ice Storm Alley
North of I-85: Snow

I wish someone would turn the temperature down on I-95. It is a reliable snow-melter in NE SC.- 1

I think we’ve changed from freezing rain to all sleet in Florence SC.
