About Me

Born during a howling blizzard on the short grass prairies of Kansas,

Moved to central coast of California while still a child. Learned to surf in Santa Cruz California in my early teens.  Surfed Steamer Lane alone at 15.  Caught my first tube there.

After that, volunteered into the US Army, fought the Cold War in Germany-the Warsaw Pact forces backed off while I was there- that is not a coincidence.

Studied Cartogaraphy, Geology, Petroleum Extraction Methods at Ball State.

While on an intern program for AMOCO Oil in Wyoming, I fought a grizzly bear barehanded, killed it, skinned it, then drew a detailed 3 dimensional sub-surface map of the Abasaroka Mountains complete with detailed stratigraphic chart on the bearskin.  Lost the damn thing in a hurricane some years later.

Have counted to infinity...twice, and once split an atom to start a campfire.

Had organized a tentative merger between UNICEF and Smith&Wesson until the EU nixed it.

Hobbies include Archery, Noodling, currently engaged in a game of transcendental chess with a Tibetan monk named Nom, he being located in Nepal.  We send our moves to each other via focused thoughts.  I'm 2 moves away from checkmate. Spends Sundays walking the family pet cobra, Joaquin, on the Washington Mall.

Places I've been:  Bartender in Bangkok, Sukhumvit Soi 11, Cheap Charlie's for 6 months.  Cuernos del Paine Patagonia Chile for the climbing, eastern Oklahoma for the noodling.

Currently Manager Product Support, Acme Mining Tools & Equipment, 'ACME, Fine Tools for Fine Miners"
