OK, so what makes a squall line re-energize like tonight?  It was was ripping in E NY, kind of meh' from the E slope of the Berks through central Ma then banging when it got near the I-495 area.

It was actually good here in Barre, but it looked like it was just starting to get going according to radar, as I did notice it meh’d out once it crossed the Berks.

  2. That was cool.   Started with some light snow, then bam a no wind whiteout for about 20 and then the wind started roaring.   Made me realize how much I miss being outside with snow ripping and wind howling...you know - winter!

Not expecting any freezing rain up this way...yet, but who knows with the way this thing is shaking out.

Glad the Pats is the late game, so they’ll be ample time to clean up and a bit of lead time to fix any power outages.  Regardless - genny on stand-by.

I highly recommend Acurites new Atlas weather station. I have had mine for about 2 months now and love it. Its a big update from their popular pro 5 in 1 unit it replaced. The touch color display unit is awesome and can log data on a SD card. The Acurite ap is pretty solid and its simple to hook up to weather underground with rapid fire updates. For only $256 on Amazon you get the station, color display, lighting detector, and wireless hub. Another cool feature is the wireless hub can support a ton of different sensors. You can hook up soil temp probes, temp/humidty sensors, water leak sensors, etc.

Have you experienced the false lightening strike issue?  I’m looking to get a weather station and do like this one overall, but have read negative reviews about the lightening strike detector.

Zoom in of a bobcat found out in our backyard 3 years ago. We have had one visit twice since. The last a time a year ago when I ran into him in our driveway.

Meant to post at the time but was busy, have a lot off great shots. Taken about 150 feet away during a snow storm. I guess they don't mind the cold!
