  2. I'm throwing out April 22nd as a date to get this thing rolling. As much as people want to have these things in their own town, I still think Worcester is pretty central for a core group. As always though, this is still open for discussion. With the exception of Jerry-Fest in Boston at Christmas time for the past bunch of years, it has been a while since we've had a region wide event. Soccer and eating kids Easter candy is no excuse to not want to go. (John (Tip) has me blocked due to his thin skin so if someone can shoot him a note as well to let him know that we are discussing this that would be great)
  3. ...I'm just throwing this out there to see if anyone wants to get the winter of our discontent out of their system, throw back a few drinks and look ahead to record breaking drought conditions on the horizon. How about April 16, or May 14 in Worcester? (trying to dodge school vacations and mother's day)
  4. Looks as though the date is still in flux, but perhaps Thursday.....
  5. The 15th Southern New England Weather Conference will be held at Meditech, at the base of Great Blue Hill in Canton, Mass., on Saturday, October 25th. Actually the conference "opens" at 730 AM with breakfast and "Breakfast with Matt" (Doody). Presentations will begin at 830 AM. Here is the preliminary agenda: http://sneweatherconf.org/2014Agenda.shtml As you can see, the topics are quite varied, not focused on specific storms as in previous years. Still going to be a great conference. Early Bird registration is OPEN through the main website. Payments can be made through PayPal, by calling the Blue Hill Observatory directly, or even the 'old fashioned' way, snail mail! Just click on the "Registration" link on the main page: www.sneweatherconf.org Check it out!!! Hope to see some of you weenies there!! --Turtle
  6. I'm just going to throw the date of April 5th out there to our brains thinking about it. With the exception of a few times, I know that Worcester has been the go to place for the past few years, mainly due to the central location. Let's give serious consideration to other locations if it means getting more folks to show up - Maybe somewhere within the Boston metro, 495 (partial) loop...Hartford, CT... Stamford, CT...Providence, R.I...Springfield, etc...or just stick with Worcester.
  7. Hello ladies and gentleman I was seeing how available people would be during the summer in the foothills and the mountains to come together in Asheville and meet our fellow neighbors. I am open for opinions and ideas. I had thought Asheville would be a great place to go get some great food and sit around getting to know one another. Anyway post away if interested. Thanks!
