Yeah that radar doesn't look particularly... real to me. Freaky!
2 3/4" in the West End.

35+ dBZ making an appearance! I enjoy yellow, even when 2 miles wide.

I was a bit disappointed when western Allegheny county had all the sleet mixing that kept us at 6" when everyone else saw closer to 9". But now, all is well. The missing 3" finally arrived, albeit rather belatedly.
In the bullseye of an event that 12 hours ago didn't even exist in the forecast. Gotta love March!

I measured 5.5" in the West End. It's compacted a bit from the sleet, but I suspect not very much since the sleet came early in the event.
Staying up to watch the snow and hearing tinking sounds at 12:30AM made me a bit physically ill. :(

That microburst over Allegheny county Friday evening was the first one I've experienced first-hand. It's remarkable how rapidly the sky shifted from a pristine blue to to grey. I thought the maple next door was going to come down, but she held out. Anyone else catch how the warning area's western boundary "backed up" to cover the outburst? When I saw that I got really giddy and excited, like I felt in the '98 tornado.

What happened to the Pens last night? That's more disappointing than anything storm-related IMO! And while I understand that these outdoor games get good ratings and are spreading the love of Hockey to a new audience, the players strongly dislike them due to sketchy ice conditions and (in this case) accumulating snow. I'm conflicted, personally.

Tapering off but still coming down. 5 1/4". I'm in this weird little ephemeral wintry Shangri-la. I love how the trees look.
