In Pace, FL...friend of mine sent it to me

I live in Pace, as well.  Its coming down hard here as well.  I measured 4 inches about half an hour ago at my place.   Plenty more coming in off the gulf.

  2. Bet nobody had the words "blizzard conditions" on their bingo card for Mobile, Alabama.  From NWS Mobile.

sub-1020mb surface low in the Gulf which will promote strong winds
and wind gusts, particularly nearer the coast. While we aren`t
anticipating true blizzard conditions (criteria defined as frequent
gusts in excess of 35mph, visibility below a quarter mile, and
blowing snow all for 3 consecutive hours), we can`t rule out
temporary near blizzard conditions along the coast where at least
moderate snowfall and frequent gusts to 30mph can be expected
reducing visibility below a half mile at times

They stupidly built Armstrong Stadiums with openings on the side. When you have wind driven rain it can rain inside.

I worry about the fans getting in their cars and trying to get home...if they don't cancel the remaining matches..they will be there for 2 or 3 more hours.

Not sure what happened with recon but right before their SW to NE pass they picked up altitude in a hurry and turned back. Would be a shame if they couldn't do the mission.

They are headed home...classified as finished.   NOAA is on the way out there now.

Tropical Storm Fred Tropical Cyclone Update
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL AL062021
    840 AM CDT Mon Aug 16 2021

...TROPICAL STORM WARNING EXTENDED EASTWARD ALONG THE FLORIDA BIG
    BEND COAST TO STEINHATCHEE RIVER...

Data from an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft and NOAA
Doppler radar indicate that tropical-storm-force winds extend
out as far as 115 miles (185 km) east of the center of Fred.

This requires an extension of the Tropical Storm Warning along the
coast of the Florida Big Bend eastward to Steinhatchee River. This
change will be reflected in the upcoming 1000 AM CDT (1500 UTC)
    advisory package.
