Meh idc if it’s 90 degrees before or after the storm. Give me a foot of snow in July and I’m happy. Snow falling and accumulating is what I follow this hobby for. Snow cover in March will still melt even if it’s below freezing with the sun angle. Today’s eps total snow members. Not much to be excited about I guess...the cmc has probably the best looking pattern around day 9-10

Give me 15 or 26 and we can move on to spring.

On January 16, 2004 mt Washington was -41.8 w winds in the 80s. The recorded wind chill was -102.6.  McGrath, Alaska also previously recorded a -100 wind chill.

The coldest i have ever been was in Rangely, ME during SERE School (survival, evasion, resistance and escape).  It was -20 air temp and a -70 wind chill.  Nothing like evading capture with 6' of snow and snowshoes just to get captured, tortured and freeze all in the name of training.  smh.

  3. I was a senior at the Naval Academy getting ready to graduate.  They were everywhere.  It was nuts.  Our class always jokes that we had a natural disaster (Isabelle) and a plague of locusts during our senior year.  At least our water didn't turn to blood and we avoided livestock pestilence.

  5. Oh great.  An Ice storm warning.  I don't think I have ever seen one of those.  At least we have 'ol reliable SMECO and Atlantic Broadband.  What could go wrong.  I upgraded my internet when my wife and I started working from home and my daughter started online school.  Double the the price and it got way worse.  Today was awful.  I have had them out three times and they have replaced everything still no improvement.  I'm not the only one on my street with issues so it is upstream.  They did credit me three months of service, I asked for three more today.  Oh, and I basically live in the forest here so this should be fun.  Just give me snow for God's sake.

  6. I have been on these boards for ten years.  I put a lot of faith in them for years, but as the season's have progressed, it is a constant buildup with "this data and this data" but it seldom plays out.  I am not a meteorologist, i'm a fighter pilot, but we obviously follow the weather.  Every storm has been the same.  It seldom plays out as modeled.  Take last weekend for example.  I'm sure someone will say "go to banter" and someone will say " then stop reading the thread".  That's fine, i know a lot of you on here have insecurities and that's ok.  You definitely have to have a touch of nerd in you to post/read this stuff.  I'm starting to think I am wasting my time.  Happy Monday.

  7. Schools were originally 2 hr delay at 5am and I feel that was a good decision.  After driving to base and seeing the road conditions, I was shocked to hear they changed to close.

Yeah, i got the first call from St. John's at 5:00 as well and figured I could live with a two hour delay.  Then they changed it to closed shortly thereafter and my wife and I were like WTF?  She had a full day of patients scheduled so I find myself "teleworking" right now.
