I'm driving back home all day tomorrow, so I hope I can get home before the heavier rain comes. We need it though.

This weather is straight from hell. 82 degrees for a high today and still 72 currently. I really don't like this type heat this early on.
I had to come down to Camp Lejeune for work yesterday and was quickly reminded why I had to move away from here. Im from ENC and have hated the heat and humidity from the day I popped out.

Gfs finally caught onto the second low and cold front dropping down around the 11th that gives us a prolonged flow snow event that would be significant for this time of the year.
How much you thinking?

Do the local stations actually determine that,or do they rely on whatever service they get all their products from? I just noticed a lot of channels across the SE use this designation along with the same graphics, so wasn't sure what all that entails
This is only my assumption and I do not know for sure, but most TV stations are owned by larger media corporations. I would think that if stations are in different markets, but are under one corporation, they would likely have the same marketing/weather/formats, etc.

This early fire season is like nothing I've ever seen before for this time of the year.
With all the downed trees, I'm worried about it.

I wish I knew how high the winds got up to last night up here. There was a major fire on some slope side condos here at Beech. I think it was a lightning strike. Totally destroyed, but thank goodness it was contained and no injuries. Power went out around 4 am or so I'm guessing and was still off when I left this morning at 10am. Lots of trees down. Wild stuff.

I’m at 3800 in Avery on the border and I’d be shocked if we don’t get at least three inches.
I hope so. I'm at the top of Beech and would love several inches up here, although I do have to go to Mountain City tomorrow, I will hopefully be home before NWF gets going so Im not caught out in it.

Currently webcams showing nothing on the ground in Banner Elk. Currently foggy with flurries here in Blowing Rock.
What is this winter?
Still white up here above BE in Beech. Thermometer says 32.4 and it got up to 36 earlier

GSP says 2-4 inches for higher elevations Wed thru Thurs. Not much mention of any significant flow snow Thurs, but if we can pull off 3-4 inches here, I'll take it. I do want the major bomb but looks like we might have to wait until next winter.

Nothing but white covering everything here with a mix of all frozen. 29 on the thermometer. Under an ice warning, so we will see what happens up here.

I swear, we have 4-5 months of death blow heat here in the south but only 1 month where we get any decent cold it seems. Give me 3 months of EACH SEASON please lol!

The snow has been off and on all day in Burnsville and at my house. I have half an inch of fluff on my board when I got home at 5, but it's snowing pretty steadily at the moment. 23°

Same here. Off and on snow all day with light accum. Nice surprise for today though.
I hope we can pull some winter weather out of our butts in the next week or two.

My thermometer just fell to 0 degrees, so I guess that's something. One of the rare times I wish I was at my previous home in Emerald Isle lol

I camped out for a lot of games, but NOT that one.
I went to State too. I was there from 95-2000. Campout was so much fun. I was at the "last game" in Reynolds when we played FSU. I sat on the sidelines immediately behind David Thompson, Pam V, Norm Sloan, etc. They were in the row directly in front of me and we were the second row behind the bench. I got the poster they gave out for that game signed by everyone. So many great memories.

What color does the NWS use to show "Roof Collapse Watch" and "Roof Collapse Warnings" on their maps?

Under a Severe T-storm watch. Wonder if the storms can get going any further south than they currently are up towards KY. I just flew home from Japan and am glad I beat this mess yesterday and today.
