To answer your question, I wanted to settle in Canada. My dream was to experience great cold winters, nature, wildlife and to have a good balance between my job and my private life. I found all of this here.

I settled in June 2009 (after 2 trips), and I really enjoy the place.

This morning we got a low of 5.3C, it is still windy but sun should be here for the day.

Temperatures from 2 to 9C in the territory.

Obviously, but the question is whether one should be forced to have one. That starts to bring a political element into the discussion though.

I understand completely. Its not like typical building codes like : Current overload protection (breaker box) that prevents your house from catching fire then could cause your neighbors home to ignite. Safe rooms have no effect on the neighborhood as a whole unlike other safety codes. So yea it would be tuff to sell such a building code.

Ill tell you what though. If i lived in the plains I would for sure have a Safe Room or Shelter regardless of local codes.

I could debate building code practices all day until Im blue in the face. But on a day like yesterday safe rooms could have saved many more lives.

Finally Ive been waiting for someone to speak of this..Here we have a death toll that may approach or exceed 200 lives but a stupid ass Wedding gets the attention. The cable networks are failing big time! This should be front story.

Its gonna be interesting to see how the Tuscaloosa Tornado compares to the Flint/Beecher Tornado of 1953. Anyone got preliminary info on the loss of life in the Tuscaloosa twister?

There is a part in me that feels terrible for getting excited for this outbreak yesterday.. I woke up this Morning to see the news of an incredible loss of life. What has God done ?
